If at all possible Jon, make sticky....

Hi, most of you know me, but here’s a quick update on why I haven’t responded to email or pm’s.

Half way through the month of August I was having some stomach issues. After going to the emergency room, seeing my doctor a number of times, on 9/11/2009 I saw a specialist and got “scoped”.
Was told here’s the surgeon’s name, see him right now, you have cancer! So my wife & Bro law head straight there, shocked, though still knowing I need to get this taken care of right now.
We get to the surgeon’s office that afternoon, my mother racing out to be there. He explains my options to us just as my mother gets there. Needless to say that early evening I get operated on.
I wake up on 9/25 in ICU, not knowing that the first operation did not work, but a second operation to remove my colon completely had been done. The hits just kept on coming; I was then informed that there were spots on my liver too. So now I’m alive, but have all sorts of tubes and stuff (even had to have dialysis) sticking out of me. Last Friday Jim & Sheyla came to see me (to which was a very very happy thing for me), we talked, laughed and cried. I hear about the goodtime had at the OK roundup. Before they leave I asked Jim for one of his “super wham” prayers. It was a wonderful prayer and the very next day they started to remove some of the tubes & other items!
Talk about “zapping” you, I have never been in a hospital in my life, let alone something like this, so when I was asked to stand up last week, I could not. Every day got a little better. This morning got the walker and went down the hall and back!! 2 days ago I couldn’t lift my legs into the bed, yesterday I was able to get into and out of bed and lift my legs back into bed without help.

1st goal Get healthy enough to get back to work doing what I love.
2nd goal Start a treat and am going to beat this thing, YES, I am going to win, it will not!!

I will need all the prayers and well wishes. This has been a profound, life changing thing and I have realized that just “You” can not do it alone and you need to draw from faith & others around you to help get you through.

Thank you and God Bless!!

Mark

Mark good luck my prayers too will be with you. I had Lymphoma a soft ball size tumor on the outside of my small intestines and two more inside my small intestine. I underwent Chemo and surgery after my intestine burst. I knew I would be okay, well there was one day that I had some doubt, but I kept positive. I am two years clean! Science has allowed doctors to treat us, years ago we would not be here. Power of positive thinking, attitude, support from family, and trust in God are the ingredients to better living. Remember, NO STRESS it doesn't matter! Life is good, prayers to you...
