Clydesdale Buildup (heavy horse)

We thought it sounded simple enough, build a new Bronco, keep it simple, nothin’ too shiny, nothin’ too fancy, something we could lay over on it’s side and think no big deal.
So we would have to start with a Bronco that is in real bad shape, something that was defiled to the point that anything we did would make it better.

The requirements:
Different, very different, but must maintain the Classic Bronco lines as much a possible
Exo (removable for body removal / repair, if needed)
Not a tube buggy
Seats big enough to accommodate heavy coats and gun belts.
Hard top
Heat
Glass in the windows
lockable
Large axles, extended wheelbase, tires over 37”, air, hydraulic, selectable lockers,
Very low geared but still able to run at highway speeds, ample storage for tools.
Etc. Ect. Ect.
Oh yah….. streetable.

The goal:
To end up with a street legal trail-runner, that is suitable for multi-day runs, using technology and inspiration from OEM, desert racing, mud-running, rock-crawling, and fellow farm boy engineers everywhere………

I do still plan on twin-sticks from you soon. I'm doing the tranny swap now. I just need a way to convince my wife I got a great deal on twin sticks that I couldn't pass up (or sell more old parts on eBay.)

We do get blems from time to time, we let those go cheap.

Jon, When are the custom triple stick knobs coming out and still waiting on those NP435 knobs, need one to fit the Gearbanger now. Bought the Stak case from Cary during the mass buy and believe you did also. A nice matching set of four knobs would look good!!!!!!!!;D

We have the NP-435 on our site. I was thinkin' the same thing about the matching knobs, since we have our knobs made off-site in bulk I was just going to turn down a couple of our stock knobs, and have them engraved at a trophy place, Our shifters / knobs have a different thread than the Stak case, since we are making our own shifters that is not a problem.

I'll need to check but I think the Gearbanger uses a coarse thread not the fine thread. Any chance you will be making them that way? It would be necessary to reduce the diameter of the knob for the triple stick, not a lot of clearance between those knobs.

The knobs that come on the Stak case are 1-3/8 OD, same as ours. If I was using the stock shifters I would bend the outside ones out at about 30deg, 4" from the top. I think that would look good.

The foam held the moisture against the metal and rusted it out from the inside.
