i recently replaced my front drum brakes with the bronco graveyard disc brake conversion kit.. the brake pads provided in the kit are super squeaky and put off lots of brake dust. does anyone know what pads to ask for when getting new ones from an auto parts store? year, make and model.

Pretty much any mid 70's-80's 1/2 ton ch#vy truck actually gm used the same brake pads for almost everything during that time. Becareful getting some of the high dollar pads that make less dust they tend not to stop as well until they get really hot. The standard semi mettalics are usually your best bet but you'll get the dust.

I specifically ask for & buy "Fleet Service" pads from my local CarQuest.

FWIW wilwood "E" pads will slightly squeal, will dust, and will stop cold quite well. As above, not all of the fancy pads will.

I get roughly as good stopping power from the Fleet Service pads as I did from the E's, w/o the squealing and dusting.
