electrical wires in dash what's hot?

I'm installing a clock on my dash and wanted to know which wires to tap into..

I need a pos and neg and another pos for the light which should come on only when my lights are on...

Thanks for the help...

For a constant hot use a tester to find one hot with the key off. Tie the one for the light in with your dash lights. You can ground it to the dash as long as your dash is grounded.

Use a test light and go to the fuse panel. They make neat little taps that wrap around the fuse to give you a power tap. This will also get you a insterment light source.

There are two spade connectors on the back side of the fusepanel. These are 12 v batt. connectors. As for the 12v ignition wire, you can tap into the wires coming ou tof the ignition switch. Ground to the dash, usually no problem.
