Explorer Serpentine Fan Clutch

I’m adding a new fan clutch to my 2000 Explorer Serpentine system. I ordered a Hayden 2841 and when it came i compared it to the stock unit. The new unit has a smaller diameter and a deeper depth.

Does anyone know if the differences in those dimensions are critical?

Not critical. I have the same one, which replaced a junkyard OEM part. Bolt on, move on.

Do the dimensions of the face of the waterpump to the fan mounting tabs line up (same offset)? If so, yes it is fine.
