got my first bronco home today and am now hearing a hiss that seems to be coming from around the brake pedal. when i apply the brakes the sound stops. it started doing it after i got it home. it has front disk, power brake conversion but i knew the booster was out when i bought it so it fells like manual. i don't mind it being like a manual until i can do something with the booster but what's with the hiss??? and should i be concerned? i'm a bronco newbie (had it about 8 hours) so i need some advice...

Sounds like a snake is under the seat:eek:

If it were me, I would park that sucker until I had the brakes working properly. If you were to have an accident knowing your booster was bad, well, you get the picture. You may also disconnect the vacuum line at the manifold, plug the manifold and without driving, see if the sound goes away. May need a new booster and vacuum line.

Sounds like my first 76', ended up being the pvc valve....After spending lots of money back in 89' for a rebuilt. Replaced cracked valve worked great......

Sometimes you luck out, sometimes your outa luck
