How long have you waited on SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon to send you your order ? It`s been over 3 years for me for a set of Ranger door panels and rear panels, here is what Kim sent me just yesterday,
We are doing our best, unfortunately production is running very slow. I will keep you posted, sorry that is the best I can tell you right now. Thanks, Kim

It`s a shame that anyone would have to wait so long for anything, you would think they would stop taking any more orders till they get their past orders completed or hire more help to finish what they have going on.

What`s y`all thoughts ? Thanks

I have a Ranger I bought in January that was missing the original interior. I was going to buy the whole original interior from SMS right after buying the Bronco until I read so many nightmare stories about how long people had been waiting.

I called and asked how long it would be after referencing that I had seen others were waiting years. They told me 4 and 8 weeks for seats and panels. It’s a shame they are willing to lie like that.

I think they actually do fill many orders in the 4-8 week timeframe. That was my dad’s experience for seat upholstery for his F250.

My guess is it depends on the color and pattern.

Have you asked about just buying the upholstery amd then you can have them done locally?

We bought the (whole kit), seats and panels from them in June 2021 and they sent the seats in December 2022 and still waiting on the panels, I have called and sent emails probably 20 times over the years and a lady called Kim will reply to my emails after a few weeks from when I send them. I get the same reply from Kim over and over that they are shorthanded, and production is running very slow and that`s all they can tell me. I really think they don`t care about the orders they already have. Like you said it`s a shame they are willing to lie to you and keep leading you on. I guess everyone knows what kind of review I would give them.

I think they fulfill orders for just upholstery in that time frame.

I asked them about ordering just the material and having someone else make the panels. They said they were the only company they knew of with the machine to put on that chrome trim on the panels to make it look just like it came originally.

3+ years, can't figure out why they still lie so bad, can't get more help, or another vendor hasn't started to offer. At this point Chinese made would be better...

Have you tried a local shop? I got a great local quote to redo my Ranger rear panels. FWIW, I did wait weeks for my Houndstooth and Indian Blanket fabric.

The local place said they could do the OEM chrome border as well? I’d order from them if so.

Let me tell you a story about SMS, I called them out of the blue one day when I had gotten an email from Kim telling me the same story. I asked the person on the phone that answered for them, could I see about ordering a 1974 Bronco Ranger seat and door panels and rear panels kit and the guy said yes, he could take my order, I asked him how long it would take to get the whole kit and said at the most, 6 months and I told him that I had been waiting on my panels for over 2 years at that time when I called them. He replied to me that same story that they where do their best to get them out as soon as they could, I asked him why don`t you SMS stop taking orders till you get your old orders done first, he didn't know an answer for that. I would tell potential customers to stay away from SMS for getting them to make you anything.

waiting that long is not acceptable and should not be offered on their site if they can't deliver or make a commitment. I'd request my money back

You have been waiting that long or that`s how long it took you on getting them ? How long ago was this ? Thanks
Ordered in May of 2023. Nothing yet, so no quite a year and half. The won't return emails though. I may end up driving up there as they are only 45 minutes from where I live.

Yes, you have a way`s to go to wait for them, I have been dealing with Kim with them, she ends up returning my emails after a few weeks when I send them one. Yes, if you are that close to them, I definitely would pay them a visit to see what`s going on with them. Let me know what you find out, Thanks

Sounds like a scam to me… seen to many times companies like this on the internet selling products and then one day they just up and disappear with everyone’s money.
