Jeff's Bronco Graveyard Ididit Column Help

I just picked up a JBG Ididit column model 17095 for my 75, and am wondering whether to keep the rag joint or replace it was a U joint, like the one below?

I deleted the rag on mine and used a u joint.

I think its going to out last the rag over time and is likely stronger than the rag joint. I guess it does feel a little better, but cant really say since I upgraded my tie rod/drag link to heims so it feels 1000 x better than the old worn out rag and worn out ball joints
