Longer front wheel studs-do they exist?

I tried locating some longer wheel studs for the front of my bronco at napa and they came up short.

Anyone have better luck?

I only need the studs to be a 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer. Id like to put my 1/4 wheel spacers back on and make my turning radius a little tighter like it used to be before I put these 35'' km2's on. When I swapped out my steelies for some aluminum wheels the studs are to short for the wheel and the spacer. I'm not looking for other spacer alternatives I just want help locating the studs. And I want to re-use my lug nuts if possible.

Thanks!

Did NAPA have the complete Dorman stud assortment with all the drawers?..I've had good luck using the Dorman numerical listing and finding what I need. Sorry that I don't have that close to hand but I bet its on line. Bendix has a siimilar numerical stud listing; I might have that in the shop.

Call ARP or ck their website. (Summit racing sells their product) My brother just bought a set of 3.5" wheel studs from summit. They are about $60 for a set of 5. My brother is starting to look for a set of fronts also, so if I find something out in the next day I will post it here and or shoot you a PM.
Here is a pic of the rears.

Might try a local speed shop, I have one set of wheels that the backspace requires i use 1/4 spacers and my local speed shop sold me long necked lugs nuts. They work very nice, been problem free. :)

Moroso # 46180. I got them from Summit years ago for a Lincoln rear disc conversion that is till now materializing. They are 2.5" long + the knurling. Pack of 10 they weren't that much back then, not sure now. Not sure you can use these up front, think you can though...Mo:cool:

Thx guys, I think I remember the problem I had was finding a stud that was only a 1/4-1/2" longer. I want to use my existing lug nuts.

I have not looked into any of your ideas but I will tomorrow & report what I find.

Thx!

I use 1/2" spacers and had to have some machined for the front, I checked everywhere with no luck maybe you can find some. Here is a pic, what you have to look out for is the shoulders, I couldn't find any the length I needed and the shoulders the same.

Is that a pic of the ones you had machined?

Can you have more machined easily?

If I can't find something that will work I'm wondering if we could work something out. Thx!

Seems like it would be much easier (and cheaper) to buy the longer wheel studs and have them cut to length. Can chuck them up in a lathe and use a cutoff wheel. Should not affect the heat treating.

Hey steve, look forward to seeing you at the stampede ;D

cutting them down would be fine, I'm not sure if I found one that I could do that with but I'll keep that as an option.

I took a quick look at the NAPA web site. They list the specs for the wheel studs, which is nice. I found the specs for a 1970 wheel stud (Dana30?) is different than the specs for a 76 (Dana44?)Make sure you know what you need and what you're getting.

Summit Racing has a bunch of wheel studs that I believe you can match up to the 76 specs.

I know I struck out last time I researched napa & summit due to the knurl, length & thread not matching up but I'll look again later today

here is a pic from my phone.. i am still at work but will search for the part number when i get home... the pic makes them look like they have about 1/8 inch more thread but the base is a little thinner so the actual threads are near 1/4.. anyways I have had no problems with my 1/4 spacers and these.

.might try Napa # 641-1624 shoulder length is a tinge different....

Thread is 1/2-20.

Maybe take one of yours in and compare it to see what you think
