Well I was all pumped to start working on this but I think time got it. I came out to check on the bronco and it might be to far gone. I was hoping to just patch it up a little and add all the parts, trans, motor, ect while I drive it awhile. Kinda of “mock it up” before I tear it all down to do the body panels. I’m not sure why the one side is sagging. Body Chanel’s look straight. But it does seem like the floor seam to the wheel well is turning to dust. It is sitting at an odd angle on the ground. But I doubt this is the body flexing. Tell me what ya think. Or if anyone has a bandaid for this until I’m ready to tear it all down or if it’s not really savable.

I see a lot of dirt still that can make it look worse.
Yes, obviously you have some rust through and that’s bad. Clean it up a little and see what you have ultimately.
As said, all of it can be fixed. Just depends on how bad it really is and how much it will take to get it fixed.

Frames are harder to work on if rusted through, but they’re also more robust and thick enough to where even some gnarly surface rust isn’t the end of the world.

Good luck either way.

Looks plenty worth saving to me but I’m not you and it’s hard to tell from a few pics how bad it really is. Many of us started with and drove and/or are driving what looks much worse. So it’s completely up to you, what your goals are and what you are willing to accept.

I’ll try to get some better pictures up. It was at dusk so I could take many or the best. I’ll try to get some better pictures of the seams. I’m pretty sure everything from seat pans back, including entire bed sides would have to be replaced. Or have to fab all new seams.

Maybe I’m over reacting because It didn’t look like this when I parked it, and I’m just mad at myself. But I’m pretty sure the rust was just hidden when I bought it and didn’t know what to look for because I bought in 2000 at 20 yrs old. I bought from an older gentleman and he wasn’t trying to be dishonest or anything. Had a new ish paint job. But It was clearly his hunting rig and he was just trying to make it look nice for himself.

Anyway, I need a good option to shore up the driver’s side bed side an hold it in place. Till I can cut up the body. As stated I’ll get some better pictures posted. Submit the plan and ask the experienced bronco body builders if said plan will work for now.

My thoughts too. We have seen waaaaaaay worse put back on the road. If you want a show rig you may have to rebody it. I know where you can get some parts.

If you think it's beyond saving( I don't think it is from what I can see in your pics) you'd be way way ahead just to list it for sale as is. You'll be surprised what it will bring, and you'll have hardly any time invested compared to pulling parts, listing them, shipping them or folks coming to your house or meeting folks with parts, etc.

So you’re upset you left a vehicle that is known to rust in a field for 22 years and it rusted? Haha

Wasn’t that long. But ya I’m not exactly excited about it. It’s my fault. I’ll figure it out. I was just looking to get opinions from folks who have done this before

You can fix it man. Get her out of the field and into the shop. My bronco was cut in half and I need to replace the whole floor and the supports and a few other things body wise.

Fix it man. You can do it easily.
I did watch a few videos. It looks a lot less complicated than I anticipated. I’m sure it’s much more difficult than on the video but does seem fairly doable.

Did you replace panels or is that a glass tub? Just wondering. And I know, I guess I was being a little b and trying to take my ball and go home. I’m finishing up another project now, then dragging the bronco back home before the snow flies. I just have a two car garage and can’t have two projects at once.

That thing is mint. You're nuts.
I’ll post some way better pictures when I bring it home. It lived in mn. A lot of the panels look ok. But seams on the rear of the truck from right behind the seats all the way to the tail gate are really bad. But ya a lot worse has been fixed. I have come up with plan to shore up the driver’s side sagging bed wall.

Someone cut part of a brace under the truck for exhaust. I believe this is the brace that was cut. It’s right below the driver’s seat. In the screenshot I show what’s missing out of it. In the next screen shot is some braces that I think Ford put in later? So I’m going to try and get those in after I get squared up as I can. Hoping that gets everything straightened for a bit.

definitely not to far gone, just a mater of how much work you want to put in it.
Here’s ours sat in the woods more than 20 years. Had to use a back hoe to get it out.
We’re doing final mock up now to get ready for paint.
