You have to have breathers, as well as a functional PCV. The PCV sucks the vapors out of the crankcase and burns them.
In your situation, either the PCV is clogged (or missing), or your engine has too much wear and is allowing more blow-by than the PCV can handle.

You also might want to check and make sure you have the right pvc valve. I had the same problem and then noticed that the valve I had that plugged into my valve cover was made for a plain circular opening and didn't have the little "feet" that was needed to seat down properly for the opening I had.

Does that valve cover have a baffle under the opening? I take it your running a straight breather on that side.

If it's enough oil to coat the side of the motor like you said, my guess would be broken rings or badly worn cylinders or both.

;D ;D ;D If you are running the 10 chrome valve cover and it dosnt have a baffel in it that is your problem you need a baffel to keep the oil in and there should be a hose from the breather to the aircleaner to get clean air into the motor.%) %) %) Bill  %) :p

I recommend repling the pcv...make sure you have your vacuum setup right...some suck, some blow and switching to Valvoline Max-Life 10-40. This stuff is great.
