Hello-
I have for sale my 1976 Ford Bronco. This is a bone stock original uncut rig originally from dry northern New Mexico. Frame numbers match the glove compartment numbers. It has the original 302 with three speed column shift. It has the auxiliary fuel tank, both tanks have been drained and cleaned and work great. Both new stock fuel caps. Mileage shows 19051 miles, I’d imagine it’s turned over but I have no way of knowing. Clear title in previous owner’s name because Oregon DMV is still messed up from the pandemic.
The Good: Drives nicely, stops well, brakes are good. Just had it aligned this week. Electrics all work, lights, fans, signals, wipers. New reverse light switch. I had a bracket put in the front driver’s seat that allows for up to four more inches of leg room for drivers over 6 feet tall. Spent the last month getting her on the road, this included: new steering wheel (horn needs to be hooked up still), new dash pad, new spare tire, new reverse light switch, new fuel pump, in-line fuel filter, hoses and clamps. Compression test shows all cylinders in good shape. New starter relay, starter motor and ignition switch. New upgraded Saginaw power steering pump. New V-belts. All new double nutted rocker arm nuts on all rocker arms. New carburetor and air filter. Front end alignment.
The Meh: The previous owner used the vehicle as his hunting rig and basically insulated it top to bottom in shag carpeting. I’ve spent considerable effort to de-shag but it’s on going. The previous owner also repainted the rig a long time ago. It’s a Ford color but the original color is Copper Metallic. There is really old tint on all the windows that needs removed. Also, the passenger door latch needs to be repaired or replaced. I might get to that but probably not. There is also a not too badly heavy-duty homemade receiver hitch that the rancher welded on. I was going to have it cut off, but you can decide what you want done with it. The original headliner was taken out and shag carpet glued to the ceiling. What looks like rust on the ceiling is simply old glue that I have wiped clean. I do have the original wiper motor cover that include with the car.
The Bad: There are three rust spots on the vehicle. Two of them are in the engine bay on both inner fenders opposite of each other where water get trapped between the inner and outer fender seam. Very common. Both bits are smaller than playing cards. The third is the usual driver’s side foot-well corner. It will need to be patched due to the previous owner’s desire to use shag carpeting that held moisture in that spot. There is a knock in bottom end which my mechanic thinks is possibly a wrist pin peeking out. At some point the bottom end will need to be rebuilt or engine swapped.
*Note*
Final Price Reduction $33,000.
