PCV Filter part number??

I’ve seen those too, where they are keyed to slots in the housing. But on a 71, do you have those keyways and the 90° twist in the opening?
And does the filter nipple fit inside that? If so, how does the clip work that comes with the filter?
I’m questioning whether that’s the exact correct fitting for a 71 or not.

Some filter housings have that fitting for things, but I was pretty sure the one that was fitted in the hose was purely cone shaped, without the keys.
When I would pull my EVAP hose off the fitting sticking out of the housing, all I had to do was pull the clip halfway off, then slide the hose with plastic cone off and out-of-the-way. The filter remained clipped inside the housing.

I corrected my previous post above, realizing I was mixing up the PCV hose with the EVAP hose.

My filter housing does have that keyed slot. I suppose it could have been replaced at some point with an air cleaner housing from a different year. I wondered how the filter attaches also. There doesn't seem to be a way to use the clip. Also wonder how necessary the filter media is, since the vapors would have to go through the regular air filter anyway.

I just realized that after all these years, I might be mixing up my 79 air filter, with my 71.
So some of that information I gave could be bogus.
If so, sorry about that…

I’m pretty sure I kept my original 71 housing when I sold the engine, so I’ll try to find it one of these days and verify if I actually have one of those filters inside the housing, or if it is indeed just the little twist-on nipple/fitting thingy that you posted last.
The filter I’m remembering with the clip, could very well be from the 79.
I was just on a full-size truck forum that I frequent and it dawned on me that all this time I may have been mixing my metaphors!
