Hey guys, Running out of ideas on how to run my exhaust. My setup is a 351w, James Duff shorty headers, 4r70w trans, Atlas TF case, and James Duff 4 link. Anybody running a similar setup and have any pics of there exhaust route. Thanks

You want single or dual exhaust?. I think the coils in the JD 4 link would be in the way for my setup but I run mine outside the frame rails. I dump over the frame rail from shorty headers almost where fenderwell exit headers would typically exit.

Not the same setup, but similar.

351W, shorties, ZF5, Atlas II and a 3-link/torque arm setup in the rear. Exhaust was 2.5" all the way. Not great pictures, but hopefully will give you some ideas.

Muffler and humping over the rear axle and under the track bar.

Nice set up digger... I think I will change my exhaust to 2 into 1 in the near future... I've been thinking about how much tighter everything gets once you start modifying suspension and driveline... Luckily my stocker is easy...

Single helps a bunch.
Guys usually tuck it in just in frt of tbe rear axle on the PS. Usually the muffler is not laying flat but enough of a "tilt" so the upper ps link won't hit it.

Any issues with the exhaust so close to the transmission regarding heat?

I like the shorties but used long tubes on this 351 C4 build. They fit perfectly.

I have no idea if what you are building is a mall crawler or a combination on/off road Bronco but be advised that long tube headers easily contact rocks, trees etc when wheeling. That's why you don't see long tube headers on wheeling rigs- I never have anyway.

No heavy rock crawling here but the radius arms, t case, and exhaust will hit long before the headers even get close if it were.

Then you're good. If anything is a 1/2" below the frame or not protected out spring snowballing with huge chunks of ice break off every thing. We've had fuel pumps get ripped off the inside of frame rails, ebrake cables get ripped apart, brake lines that aren't attached to radius arms or track bars all the way get torn off.

Some call us hard core but I just wanted to point out that those parts are ready to get torn up if you wheel it.

You are correct, my trail rig is definitely tucked up and uses stock manifolds.
