WHAT A RIDE!!! ;D Perfect weather, no breakage (a real shocker), no stucks (a bigger shocker), and both Lisa & my father came away smiling.
Not the technical trails that Superlift is known for, but plenty of relaxing plainold trails in the woods, trails through the creeks, and trails under the underbrush (they got TIGHT). And they're sprinkled with technical spots, scenic areas, rustic Americana (OK, maybe just dilapidated buildings & abandoned houses), and some interesting geographic features (for Arkansas): at least 2 caves (one large enough to drive into, but you can't), a natural arch (large enough to drive a car or 4-wheeler under), a 10'-tall canebrake, several springs, and at least 3 rock walls (2 MASSIVE).
When I pulled into the parking lot, I heard that ~350 people had already arrived, and more followed, so I think it was a pretty successful event. There was the requisite Jeep presence, several Samis, a CUTV, an antique military Jeep, some tubed-out trucks, several tube buggies, and even a few FS pickups, but I didn't see another Bronco the whole day. The place is obviously dominated by cycles & side-by-sides, and they were everywhere, like mad ants.
I know I didn't drive 1/2 the trails, but I basically criss-crossed the property, and saw most of the sights. I only ran into one group of inconsiderate drunks who were blocking a trail. But that same group included some of the most-helpful people I met, and without their patience, I wouldn't have found the big cave.
It's too bad the place isn't open to trucks year-round, but maybe that will change now that they know there's some interest. If you're looking for a substitute for Hot Springs, White Buck Ranch will disappoint you greatly. But if you're looking for a new & interesting place to ride some trails, you could do a lot worse. I'll be watching for the next open ride, or an announcement that they're opening for business.
SuperMotors is down at the moment, so I'll try to upload some pics tomorrow.
