Hi, I made the time to pull the engine and measure the clutch.
I spent 1 1/2 hours Tuesday night, 1 hour Friday night and an 1 1/2 Saturday. Got the old 170 out in 4 hours.
The clutch is the popular 9". It even has some life left in it after 18 seasons of snow plowing and 2 beginner drivers learning on it.
Thanks for checking it out

Hi, a couple of years ago I got a 200 take out motor with the 2 barrel convertion head (a onehotvega head).
The heads been on the 170 and it allows the engine to really breathe.
I freshened up the very clean 200, rings, bearings, comp cam etc, and planned on getting it running this fall.
The old clutch was at the top of the adjustment and I can't have it slipping when it snows or else I'll be snowed in.
I just ordered a new " mighty" 9" clutch, so I should be putting the fresh 200 back soon.
Thanks

When I was a kid my Dad had a 67 with a plow on it for cleaning up his parking lot in Michigan at his gas station. That thing had posi traction in the front and rear and it was a heck of a snowplowing machine. It had the six banger as well and was quite capable. Yours should be a real snow pusher with that modified 200. Looks real nice. And like you say, Good Luck. Ken

Thanks. My son is in Mooresville. Maybe we'll see your Bronco one day.
Well Ken, I hope you got to do a little plowing.
My Bronco was the plow truck at the Lincoln Mercury dealership where my father worked. I was a little shop rat. They taught me everything. I started plowing with this Bronco when I was 11 or 12.
It lived a rough work horse life.
They parked it in 85. My father told me they were talking about getting rid of it and I should go get it. So I did. And I'm still working on it.
Good luck

That 200 will be a nice upgrade I bet. I beefed up my 170 last year and I really think I want a 2bbl carb on it

Very nice. Yes, please send me a PM when you are in Mooresville. I would love to show you this NJ Bronco that logged 190k miles through salt and snow.
