Rear end Problem

9 inch rear with 3.50 gears limited slip
just had it rebuilt year and a half ago. starting to make some noise again. could it be bad bearing or a bad rebuild???
HELP

Could be a bad axle bearing. I would say bad build. Jack her up and start checking for bad axle shaft bearings.

would i have to pull the stump to check that or pull the axle

remove fill plug,poke about a dozen banna pelings in there along with a hand full of sawdust,works great.old used car trick from the 50's (he he he)

Jack it up and try to wobble the wheel up and down. Its the easiest to start and see whats going on. After that, you can check the driveshaft for slop as well.

The track lock will grab and make noise around corners if it doesn't have enough limited slip additive in the oil.

i have added limited slip additive. still makes noise around 30 mph but stops as i apply the breaks.quietn down when i slow down maybe something in my hub.

Sounds more like a bad axle bearing noise. Could be driveshaft too. Noises are hard to pin down from the driver's seat. Have you looked at your u-joints lately. Do wobble test as Evil69 says.
