My 77 Sport is needing new shocks from the Rancho's that came with the Wild Horse 5.5" lift and Double Hoops in front. Does anyone know off hand which part number (type/size) of Bilsteins to order?

Wild Horses would have this info for in a heart beat.

The Bilstein Shocks are most likely in stock.

TX, if you have the dual "stock style" shock mounts in the rear, you would typically want the Bil88013 x 4 each. If you have our Shock Jock in the rear, we do not offer both lengths in the Bilsteins. One shock would be the Bil88013, but the other longer one is usually 33" extended and 19" compressed. The closest Bilstein alternative to that would be Bil88119 @ 30" and 18". It would be close, but not exact. With the hoop in the front, typically the Bil88118 x 2 each and Bil88013 x 2 each. Usually we like to have you measure your Bronco, at ride height, sitting under its own weight, and take some mount to mount measurements. Then, we would take your ride height measurement for each shock in each position, and make selections from there, putting ride height between the extended and collapsed lengths.

Hope that is clear and helps. You can always give us a call too.

Thanks Matt. I am running dual hoops up front with Rancho RS99010 and single on the rear with Rancho RS99010. From the patina they look at old as the lift. I show these to be Extended Length (in.):26.00 Collapsed Length (in.): 16.13 from website data.
Not that this is the correct size but what is currently installed. No so sure Im going bilstein anymore and looking at options. I'll take ride hieght measurements from eyelet to eyelet this weekend.

Happy to help. If the Ranchos have been happy, then the lengths are probably ok for your use. Measuring will help ensure it. Good luck, and have a great weekend!

Still trying to figure extended length on shocks and measured ride height. Front hoops working back are Eye to Eye Front Hoop 25"/24", Back Mount 23".

Are you running stock radius arms? Are these pics at ride height? From the looks of it, those shocks are a bit short. Although, with a 5.5” lift, you probably don’t have much droop before your driveshafts bind up.

If your shock measurements are at ride height and you have good driveshaft angles, I have some recommendations for Bilsteins.

Front: AK7114SB06. This is a 7100 series short body remote reservoir shock. 19.53” collapsed and 33.84” extended. 360/80 valving. Run one per side in the forward position behind the axle.

Rear: 25-187748. This is a 5165 series remote reservoir shock. 17.9” collapsed and 31” extended. 255/70 valving.

Make sure you have good bump stops and they are tall enough to limit the uptravel so you don’t bottom your shocks out.
