Where else are you getting aftermarket parts besides Olsen Brothers? :(

Can't say enough good things about Chris Olson, he has helped me a lot, good guy. Other than Olson Brothers I have parts from the following:

Fireball Modelworks, this is Joseph Osborne who also has very good quality parts and ships quickly.

BNL Resins, They ship fast as well but a lot of their pieces require a little finish work to get rid o the rough edges.

Shapeways, They sell cages and bumpers, they are also pricey

Scenes Unlimited has a few bronco related pieces

Missing Link, emailed with a guy named Kevin and he set me up with a ford 6 cylinder engine to use later on

Well I am mostly finished. Need to add a couple rust spots and maybe some burnt sienna on the tire cover. There are so many mistakes on this thing. The paint I had was messed up and would make a wavy type finish. I tried wet sanding then re spraying, but it did the same thing. I gave the paint to a PHD that has a business in paint and works with a paint vender to make paint. He couldn't make it behave either. I used Tamiya rubbing compound to clean it up somewhat. I used a chrome paint pen to do the chrome down the sides, but didn't like it. I then used foil on the windows.

Looks great in the pics. I have some foil to try on the next one, it has to be easier and I think certainly looks better. Is the floor just flat black? It looks good.

Yeah just flat black for the floor. I tried to do a little weathering, but it just made it shiny and didn't like the look. I really should have painted it the same color as the exterior, but with all the problems with that paint I didn't want to add to it.

I did the floor flat black on the 4DR bronco, I think the contrast with the body color looks good on some. All the others I have done matched the body. Good job on all the details. It's not easy.

WOW after seeing this thread mine is in the box and I think it will stay there! You guys got some skills, and more patience than me. At the very least you guys got a steady had and way more time than me! LOL

Really cool how you modified them.

Question for you model gurus:

In the midst of building this Bronco model, I inevitably dug out a whole slew of old models started by me, or my dad, or my uncle when we were all kids (uncle built a lot in the ready/alert shack during the Cold War)

Is there anything safe enough to strip paint off the plastic bodies but not damage them?

Soda blast is about all I can think of, even that may wear some details off. I heard about oven cleaner, or Simple Green....

Thoughts?

Looks like I might be laid up here for a few days so I was gonna break open the Baja model and give it a shot.

Has anyone did theirs yet. Need some info on the multi colors painting like the best way to do it? All pointers appreciated.
