I am looking at a fiberglass tub made several years ago, and the inside panel near the rear fender wheels is "glassed in" solid and you cannot access the bedside area where you bolt the top's sides onto.

It is glassed on the inside of the bed, and the area above the filler neck region. And of course, the fender is on the upper outside edge.

So, you can't reach under as you would on the stock tubs to hold the nuts onto the bolts.

I am wondering if anyone who has a fiberglass tub like this could tell me how you fixed the top's mounting system at the Bronco's bedside?

I just want to know how this is mounted before I purchase the tub.

Thanks,
Charles

my tub does not have the inside panel it's the old Kentrol, but what I plan to do is add plates with nuts in them and then glass that in under the rail, on one that has the internal panels all you would have to do is cut access, then add the plates and then take the pieces of glass that you cut out, put them back with some epoxy and then add a light finish cloth over them. The nice part about glass is it is easy to work with and very forgiving.

Onlything glass is the tub and fenders. I like the detail of the steel tailgate and grill better. You cant get a glass full door anymore because they had to many problems with the upper frame breaking off the door. I went to kentrol and looked over there entire shop and storage area. Everything they make is ausome!! Its all hand laid glass and i havent gotten a single splinter yet! Easyer to work with than steel thats for sure!

Here's the finished product (if there is such a thing as "finished") a couple years later after my initial post on this thread.

Yes there are! Mine is 'glass. Windshield frame, doors, and top are steel. Put it together 34 years ago.
Computers are still a challenge to me. I thought I posted a pic in the garage but I don't know where it went.
