Hello all Louisiana and Mississippi bronco owners! Thought I would toss out a post to see if you guys want to get together in Baton Rouge on Saturday Feb. 28th. I was thinking of your standard restaurant meet around mid day so we are going to do it at Hooters on Siegen Ln at 1:00pm. It would be a great to meet some local bronco guys and check out a few rigs. Not to mention learn about any local trails and see who plans on going to what trail runs this year. I think it would be good to hear what projects are planned for the summer too. You never know who you might meet that can lend a hand or tool or at least stand around and "supervise" with a beer in their hand while you do all the work.

Update:

Place: Hooters on Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA
Date: Feb. 20th, 2010
Time: 12:00 noon

And if we were closer to Memphis I would say let's have it at Platinum Plus....Woo hooo!

Seriously though, yes there is some very good food around here. I moved here in April and already gained about 8 pounds!

Thats great yeah they shut down the purple palace (the ballet) over a year ago. Some of us have been talking about starting a Mid-south club and maybe meeting at the casinos in Tunica,Ms.

Man I wish I could go....just had a baby and I don't have a hauler yet, It's only about an hour and 15 minutes away (I'm South of Lafayette), but I don't think I wanna put my ride on the highway that long yet......I guess I'll catch y'all if you have another meet in the future. Definitely post some pics of the meet if it turns out good!!

My first "long" trip in my bronco was 100 miles one direction, wheeled for 4-5 hours and drove 100 miles back in the same day. That was a great day. Its all in the way you look at it. Think of it as an adventure! If we do it mid-day you could plan the time it would take to make a slow trip of it.

if i've got mine back together by then, i'll definitely be there. :-[

tearing the front end down this weekend, then removing the roof, then hopefully installing the roll bar, rag top, new windshield, lift kit, brakes, axles, hubs and whatever other stupid ideas i can come up with over the next few weeks.

this thing is like having a child.

damn, sounds like you have tons of plans for your rig. I won't be able to help this weekend but may on some upcoming weekends. Hope to see you at the meet. We still need to figure out a good spot to have it so any suggestions would be great.

Hey JT, I grew up in Slidell!! hope you get it running. I am open to pushing out the date if it helps everyone get their trucks ready. Not too far though, got give you something within shouting distance to shoot for. That way you stay motivated!!!

Re: meet

Just got mine about a month ago and love it. I may be able to make it to baton rouge. Its lifted and has 35in super swampers on it so the ride may be bumpy and slow. Keep me posted.

Will do, In the end their may be a few coming from Lafayette area. Maybe if we get enough you could convoy to BR. That way you could all look out for each other and help out if there are any problems.

sounds like a good idea. I thought I would let you guys know about the deep south eb guys if you didn't already know. few of us in alexandria and bunch in baton rouge, N.O. and slidell and a few other scattered around the state. monthly meetings in slidell and I think in BR as well. I don't ever get to go to the meetings because of work but we make 2-4 trips a year to different bronco events a year. ocbr in hotsprings AR, bama brawl in AL and try to make some of the ecbr stuff in TN. check out our website. great bunch of guys to wheel with and some really nice broncos. JD is our pres and goes by fablife on here but doesn't post alot here. you can get in touch with him at the www.ecbr.us forum quicker probably. he has everybodies numbers and such. but anyway go to the website www.deepsoutheb.com and check us out. not a whole lot of stuff on the site but also has JD's email on there and pics of our broncos. later. still working on final plans so I am open to suggestions on Date, Place and Time. Thanks for the offer.

If i don't have mine back together by March 1, i'm going to puke coat hangers. I'm going to try to push it through quicker though. May put off a few of the projects till May-ish if this meet comes together. Mine's still that original ugly brown and white though :(

i'm open to any places, walkons, capital city, hooters, gold club.... whatever.
