V-8 or a Big 5 (300) housing You will also need to get the intermediate housing for a V-8, The one for the I-6 is shorter if I remember correctly

The I6 transmission is the wrong one for the V8. Too short, puts the engine in the wrong place under the hood. Gear ratios are not as well matched to the V8 power as well. You really need a V8 3-speed. That will put the engine in the right place and fix all the other issues. The only thing that will be wrong is the shift rods will be the wrong length.
