Anybody used that one and been happy? It's AC only. If anybody has used it and could tell me if an NP435 shifter works with it please chime in.

It works great for me, nice and cold and the fans are pretty strong.
The only thing with it are the following:
-Fans are a little loud.
-The condenser right in front of the radiator I think restricts the air flow in stop and go traffic.

I used an under dash mount , removed my factory heat and fan and got the unit with heat and air , works well , just had to heat and bend my shifter about a half inch .

If you are adding AC to your bronco, you really need to add a new radiator at the same time if you are still running a stock one. I am very fond of the copper brass 4 cores that WH sells and have several of them here. I put the 4 core triple flow in my bronco and it is amazingly efficient even behind my condenser. My engine does not go over 180 at all. I am running their 4 core standard with the built in trans cooler on 2 other broncos I am building right now and adding AC to them. The only downfall with the triple flow is that you have to run an external trans cooler if you run an auto but I did a nod to Stroppe and added one like he did on the early Baja's and am very pleased with the end results. I am also running the full circle fan shroud on them which greatly increases air flow through the radiator/condenser.

I recently installed this universal under dash unit in my 73. I have a t-shift and C4. With the way I have it mounted, no 4L, but I don't use it, so no loss there. It is a/c only, like the old school Mustang or Bronco dealer installed units. With the kit, I had to remove my stock hood latch assembly and use hood pins to make room for the Condenser in front of the radiator. Again, no too big a deal, I would rather drive comfortably in the summer, than retain the stock hood latch. The kit comes with a small electric fan, which would have been nice to use, but I didn't have room for it. I am using the Wild Horses rigid fan off the water pump, and our Staggered 4 core radiator w/ trans cooler. I had to make a bracket to mount the compressor. I ended up mounting it on the passenger side, above the alternator. I still run a 2 belt setup, the compressor runs with the alternator belt. Belt tension is crucial here. Other than that, the kit comes with enough hose, fittings, and clamps where I was able to reasonably plumb it myself.

So, how does it work? Engine heat?

Yesterday it was about 103 degrees here in CA. I drove comfortably home from work with the windows up and cool as a cucumber! Typically my 302 runs about 195 degrees or so. In 103 heat, a/c full blast, I run about 210-220. Warm but steady. My only complaint, or criticism is it doesn't blow crazy hard. If you like the cold air blowing on your face like a new vehicle with dash mounted vents, you won't get that. It is more of an ambient cool, unless you lean closer to it, rather than kicked back in the seat. BUT, for $500, it is hard to beat, in my opinion.

Teal ... bending that NP435 SHIFTER there is nothing to it.. My NP435 has been in my Bronco for 10+ years. I couldn't tell you how many times I've bent mine ...
1st I going to say the NP435 was never a Bronco Option although it should have been.
2nd just get you cutting torch & Heat it up .. Give it a tweak & drive it for a few weeks. I drove & adjusted mine of & on for months.
I was deciding where my shifter was the most comfortable for me .
Seems like I'd remove my shifter ball/knob.. Then drop a cresson wrench the round hole in the handle over the shifter rod. That just help give me a 3rd hand to hold it steady. Bend it slightly ... Let it cool & put the knob back on & got drive.
I didn't want to have to reach for mine & I didn't wanting mine hitting my knee. & I didn't want my knuckles hitting the dash.
After I was satisfied my was where I wanted it . I wiped it down with Lacquer thinner . & then hit it with a little black spray paint Looks Great.

That's good info. I was worried maybe the unit would be so close to the pivot point that bending the stick might not be an option.
