hi i am new to this chat as a new bronco owner - i have a 1970 automatic - 302 with a recently installed EFI Sniper - Need to upgrade air cleaner and not sure if the old snorkel system is the way to go or it doesn't make sense for a 302 with an EFI?

The best air cleaner is probably the stock one that has the flex duct to the grill. Actual factory cold air intake.

Big issue with early Broncos is hood clearance. So many aftermarket air cleaners run into the hood. Drop base runs into the distributor. And pulling hot underhood air.

Check with the Bronco venders you like. They are all used parts. Don't know who has what for inventory these days.

I like the big Edelbrock triangle air cleaner. If you flip it around backwards, it clears a Duraspark cap, the throttle linkage, and the crazy Edelbrock carb fuel inlet.
It fits in the Bronco, and looks cool too.

If that is the one I am thinking of, wire mesh over coarse black foam, it does nearly no filtering. Keeps boulders and small children out. but lets fine grit go right through. As far as filtering goes, probably the worst filter possible. A backfire also sets the foam on fire. But they are good for hood clearance. And very inexpensive.

NOOO!
Like I said... the big triangle.
