I have all but found my dad's old Bronco!

Today, I went to Fayetteville Paint & Body and spoke to Jack (The owner of the shop). Schreiber (CB member) suggested I ask him, and we figured he may know about it since he works on a lot of people's Broncos. Turns out we were right in our assumption. He was friends with the owner of it, the same guy I was told bought it and restored it.

Turns out the "taken back to uncut" is true, as well as being painted twice. It now sports an automatic trans as well.

Now for the sad part. The owner has passed away. I thought this may be the case since I googled one of the names I was given and found an obituary. Jack told me the last he knows of his wife still has the Bronco. I do plan to contact the owner's wife and see if she would mind us looking at it and maybe taking some pictures. I don't want to push the issue of selling too much due to the situation.

I would like to give a huge thanks to Jack from Fayetteville Paint and Body for taking the time to talk to me about it. On a happy note, he had these pictures in his office:

Jimmy, you never know. If you tell the woman your story, she might sell it to you after she sees the twinkle in your eye....

Seems like a perfect scenario. It's not uncommon for a bronco to be sold once the owner passes away. And what better place for the rig to go to them the son of the original owner.

Go visit her, give condolences for her loss and offer her a fair price.

Good luck.

Congrats on finding...almost. Seems like enough time has passed since the gentleman's passing. Won't hurt or seem insensitive to inquire about the Bronco now.

Jimmy,
I may have seen that Bronco a year or so ago going south on the Parkway. It just didn't click that was the Bronco you were looking for. I never got close enough to get a picture. Hopefully you will be able to see the Bronco in person.

I understand why. It really has changed a lot over the years. It's nice uncut, but I fell in love with the picture from the first time he had it painted. If things don't work out for us to have it back, then I may have to paint one that color.

I want this thing back! :D

I'll be trying to call the owner's wife today.

Just got off the phone with the owner's wife. I'm planning to go look at it this afternoon to see it again. Can't wait! :D

I didn't bring it up. I'll leave that for when we get there. She seems like a very nice person. She was super nice about letting me come and look at it.

It's officially found!

Today, I saw the old '69 for the first time in likely 10 or more years. It's beautiful! It now has power disc brakes, newer 302, and newer power steering pump. It's different from the late 80's, but it's still awesome!

I'm definitely on cloud 9! I am in love with this Bronco! I did mention to the lady that if she ever wanted to sell it, I promise to give it a good home. She isn't ready to sell at the moment, but maybe someday Dad and the beginning Bronco will be reunited.

Unfortunately Dad had to work late and didn't get to join in. The owner was even nice enough to tell me I could bring him to look at it sometime if I wanted to. I think I will!
