I have switched from the factory 2bbl to a 4bbl set-up. My dist has 2 vacuum ports. I believe the outer goes to the carb and the inner port I can plug as that is just for deceleration, is that correct? Do I need that ugly vacuum advanced control valve of can I ditch that as well? Anyone have a pic of their 4bbl engine setup? Pic would help tremendously as I am installing chrome valve covers without all the factory hose crap so I would like to know what direction I need to go.

What emissions equipment are you using? If you don't have/need the original thermacter equipment you might as well ditch the dual vac can and go to a single.

Classic plates so no emmisions needed, its a 71. Do I need a single dist or can I Jerry rig the dual for the time being.

You can plug the inner port (retard port) and just use the outer, plumbed directly to the carb.

So I assume I can toss the advanced vacuum control module and just run straight from the carb to the dist.

Good pic Matt. Just goes to showcase how the different years varied slightly too. My '71 had the breather hose to a fitting on the rear of the air filter housing, from the passenger side valve cover.
Then the PCV valve itself was in the front of the driver's side and to the base of the carb.
I knew earlier Broncos were often setup your way, but didn't know when they made the change. Now it looks like it was between '70 and '71.

Good to have these comparisons.
