Okay gotta it set didn't know you had to have the vacuum advance unhooked and plugged. Just a fraction off. 12 ° at idle now. Whew. The headaches of learning. Grr. Thanks everyone for ideas
Yes they are doubled checked both. I may have been trying to achieve this improperly. I have had the vacuum advance to the carb hooked up. Upon further reading this looks to be the incorrect way!
It also doesn't seem to have smooth operation on the road. If I cycle the rpms up and down it sounds smooth operational could all this be fixed by exhaust?
Yes it was a complete motor with wires and all double checked to make sure of the order. It was pulled to install the heater pickup tube it's and hei distributor
I just tried as soon as it idles down it just dies. Hmm. I would have thought it to only be off a smidgen having pulled and marked everything. Very frustrating
Hi all got a new engine and had to pull distributor, was run by builder and dyno'd drained and shipped. Marked distributor before and rotor position. Everything went back in starts and runs fine but timing is way off from specs given. Should I more distributor to timing specs leave where is...
I know the extreme mounts I got have a long side and a short side to the triangle. If the long side is pointing down it would raise the motor up which I believe in theory would cause the engine to tilt more. Just a thought though.
What is the purpose of the tube that extends down into the intake on the water inlet tube. Would like to button up my engine install before Monday but need one of these. Was wondering if I could create my own fitting to get running.
