    Limited Slip Clutch Plates Stuck

Thanks so much Paul. I’ll give it another few hundred miles before I drop in another bottle just to give it more time to work in. And the mask is another great idea. I just so happen to have a few lying around these days

    Limited Slip Clutch Plates Stuck

Dirt Donk, Thanks for the response. You're right about my differential-- it was installed in the mid-90's but I'm confident it has fewer than 15,000 miles on it. It went mostly undriven for a really long time. The diff is currently filled to the brim, but i'll siphon out enough to make room...

Yep, should've left well enough alone.

    Limited Slip Clutch Plates Stuck

My '77 with 9 inch rear-end had a clutch-type limited slip added by the previous owner (would've been done in the mid-90's). I don't know the brand nor anything else about it. I recently replaced the previous gear oil with Valvoline 75W-90 because the bottle said it contained limited slip...

Looking for the o-ring I’ve highlighted in yellow. Thanks!

9 Inch Pinion Retainer O-Ring Part Number

Does anyone have a part number for a 9 Inch Pinion Retainer O-Ring that would allow me to find it at a local parts store? Both WH and JBG sell them but I'd like to complete the job over the weekend and not wait on shipping. I have Napa, Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, and an O'Reily's nearby...

Truck Avenger 470 Jetting for (Really) High Altitude

Thank you, sir. I just read your wideband thread. Very informative and shows me I have so much to learn!

Truck Avenger 470 Jetting for (Really) High Altitude

JCKKYS: I actually live in Mississippi at a whopping 505 ft above sea level. To your point, the carb works great here. But I’m bound and determined to get over that mountain in Colorado! All that said, what are the things you would do knowing my situation. I gathered that you believe changing...

Truck Avenger 470 Jetting for (Really) High Altitude

WheelHorse— thanks for the reply. I’ve considered the wideband. Can you tell me which one you use and if you’d buy it again?

Truck Avenger 470 Jetting for (Really) High Altitude

This past summer I attempted to take my '77 with a relatively stock 302 over Corkscrew Gulch, an old mining road in Southwest Colorado. I never made it over the top. For those not familiar, this road climbs to a max elevation of approx. 12,000-12,500 feet. I have a Weiand low-rise dual plane...

    Heater Motor Upgrade

I appreciate the response Mike. It's good to know I don't have to go so far as the 100A units others in this thread have mentioned having.

    Heater Motor Upgrade

Thank you Paul. My truck is a ‘77, but chances of that alternator being original are likely slim. Thank you very much for the detailed answer. I'll be taking your advice and have it tested. I appreciate the help.

    Heater Motor Upgrade

Alternator Question My heater core was leaking so I took out the whole box and then went down the rabbit hole of this thread. So, I don't know jack about electrical, but I read somewhere in this novel that the upgraded motor (p/n 35587 from multiple parts stores) might overpower an alternator...
