76 ps lower steering column ujoint part number

Thanks. I've found some lower steering column shafts and complete joint assemblies from the vendor sites, but what I'm looking for is simply the part number for the spider so I can rebuild my stock lower shaft. Jeff

76 ps lower steering column ujoint part number

Does anyone have the NAPA part number for the replacement Ujoint on the lower steering column of a stock 76 with power steering? Mine has seen better days... Thanks! Jeff

    Power steering box?

Yes, same as in my 76s. It's the big blue paint that causes the illusion!

76 power steering leak at return line

My particular issue is on the steering gear side fitting of the low pressure hose. I will post up pictures as soon as I figure out how to become a contributor again. I've been off the grid for a while and let it lapse. Jeff

76 power steering leak at return line

Wow. You never cease to amaze me with the quality of your responses. Thanks. So just to confirm: is the brass cone originally just a press fit into the steering gear? Jeff

76 power steering leak at return line

Yep, I agree about the sealant. The hose is new and looks good. I went to NAPA today to discuss, but they had no idea about flare gaskets. Of course they are only as good as the guy I'm talking to at the counter. I found this online...

76 power steering leak at return line

Well, it's been over two years since I started this thread, and I am just getting back to solve the problem. Sad state of prioritizing my bronco I guess. Anyway, a few of you have private messaged me asking if I solved this yet. And no I haven't. Yet. What I did last week was take the...

75' starts runs for a few minutes then dies

All good feedback. I'm sure you know how to rule out issues, so I will just offer this: it could be fuel pump related. Get a cheap in line fuel pressure gauge, and insert it in the rubber hose section between the carb inlet and the steel fuel line. You may find that it has sufficient...

    Steering box removal

Thanks guys! Looks pretty simple in hindsight. I think it's keyed as well about 90 degrees off the indentation for the bolt. Jeff

    Steering box removal

Hi guys, Been a long time! I've got a bit of time to tinker with my 76 and remove the stock power steering box for some repairs. Question is when I remove the lower steering shaft, do I need to mark the position relative to the box flange or is it keyed? Pump has been leaking so it's very...

    vapor lock????

Agree on checking out the fuel tank venting. It's its not vented and you don't have vented gas cap, it will shut the fuel flow down over a period of time. Put a cheap inline fuel filter gauge just before the carb. It will tell you more than looking at a clear fuel filter. Jeff

    Ball joints???
