I just checked some pictures I had on my phone of my other Bronco and it does have the standard T housing and it also has the Gates 20983 hose on it.

You can get in touch with US Shift and they can talk you through how to check and adjust line pressure using a lap top. I had to do this when I first installed a 4R70W in my 69.

I am using a Gates 20983 on both my Broncos. Both have the same set up as you. One has the 90 deg. t housing. The other has the standard t housing I think but it is not where I can check it until Monday.

I have almost the same set up as yours in my 74 except I have 4.56 gears. I used the stock torque converter. It seems to work good for me. The transmission shop that rebuilt my transmission got the TC for me so I can't say where the best place to get one from.

I have 2 Broncos with 4R70Ws. one has a mild built 351W and the other a mild built 302. Both with 35s. The one with the 351 has 4.56 gears that work good but I think 4.88s would be better. The 302 has 5.13s that work great. My vote for your set up would be 4.88s.

How long is your front driveshaft? I may have a couple of them.

I cut mine with a die grinder with a cut off wheel. I found a piece of pipe that fit over the shaft cut it to where there was 1" of shaft sticking out after it was slid as far as it would go on the shaft using it as a guide to cut the shaft straight. Then cleaned up the splines with a 3 corner...
