    Get some copper tubing, flatten it out and slide it in the tailgate handle opening, up to the carrier latch holes you want to plug, and weld em up. That's my plan when I do mine.

    The end in the pic is all the way back by the rear bumper. I tried to trace the cable yesterday but lost track of it up where the frame runs under the firewall. If I have time tonight (after work, I hate Mondays) ill see if I can find the other end.
