    Trails near Raton, NM ?

September in northern NM is a pretty nice time. Late August and early September is antelope hunting season. Usually first weekend of September. Only lasts 3 or 4 days. It'll be pretty warm in the middle of the day but does cool down in the night. In August and early September the rains tend to...

Let's see pictures of the most interesting thing in the back of your Bronco

Oh Man!! That's on my project list. I've got a CT 110 and I plan to build a rack to mount in the receiver hitch. You wouldn't by any chance happen to have some more pics?

    Trails near Raton, NM ?

You can go a little further to the west nearer to Eagle Nest and Red River. Here you'll be in the Carson NF. We found quite a few trials but you'll be surprised to see so many side-by-sides and four-by-sides. It seemed like nobody runs 4x4s any more. It was crazy the number we saw up there last...

Sooo... I don't know anything at all about distributors

I just did about the same thing. I sourced a new distributor that looks for the most part just like a stock points distributor but has GM HEI built onto the side. Admittedly, the HEI bump out is noticeable but it's not all that bad. These distributors go under the name of "Ready to run" and...

Color Matching- Paint Gurus- finally getting some paint!!

Matching paint is much more of a black art than most folks realize. Cameras and computers are far from being a given and can't replace the trained eye. It's very hard to get a perfect, direct match after the first paint job has aged any at all. I think your guy sounds like a real pro because not...

    Help diagnose this problem

On my '67, it was the slip joint as said here. During a stop it would slid open just a bit and then on acceleration the joint needed to close but the joint was worn and would pop because it couldn't slide smoothly. At the time, back in the early 80's I was told by other Bronco owners it was a...

    Feast your eyes:

Gotta love those old "mouse fur" interiors! I actually do NOT miss those times but respect the simplicity before cell phones and such. In those days, caller ID and third party calling was pretty hot stuff!

Revell build thread, post your status too

I want to build mine to look...you know...like my Bronco. But wouldn't it make a way cool build to do it as a barn find! All covered in dust, bad paint, rust, maybe a flat tire or two, missing air cleaner and plenty of rats nest material thrown if for good measure! That's actually probably...

Pitman arm and number of turns lock/lock

This is sort of an old thread but since it's been picked up again I need to clear up a couple of things. I also need to get some help from an alignment shop. What the issue is, I have a PS box off what I don't know. all done by the PO and no information available. There is a total of about 4 or...

    Air Compressor

If it's for just short use, Harbor Freight has a good selection and you can spend as much or little as you want. I still a Craftsman oil less from about 1981 still going strong. I'm sure the new ones are not even close to this good and when it comes to compressors, price is all about the...

    Ready To Run distributors?

Got it going! Last might I disconnected the ignition hot wire on the coil and ran a jumper to the battery. This time it would idle as low as ever! So it was the internal resister just as ya'll said. I need to remove the dash on another project so in the meantime I tapped a switched fuse. That...

Barn find 66 by a newbie

That's just too dang cool! Being a 6 cylinder model, it should have the lower first gear which is always nice. It sort of looks like it has the '66 hub caps but then again sort of doesn't. A better picture might help. The '66 covers are way expensive and originals are hard to find.

    Ready To Run distributors?

I'm betting it's still there. Test for it tonight and see. So, that means the PO didn't run a dedicated, constant voltage line to the coil like Pertronix recommends and that also probably means that's why the Pertronix was giving me so much trouble. But, that also means the Ready to Run...

    Ready To Run distributors?

That could be a point to check but that isn't mentioned in the instructions. I thought the whole idea with a ready to run was you installed it and it was ready to run as is. I do understand the need for an electronic 40K coil and I have that but I may of may not have resister 12volts coming to...

    Ready To Run distributors?

The PO installed a Pertronix kit but for test purposes I took it out and replaced it with points style. Just seemed to run much better. Frankly, from what I've seen, I don't think I feel comfortable running the Pertronix. Either you like them and they run perfect or you throw rocks at them. No...

That's so easy, I'm almost ashamed! The normal value of 1969 Ford Bronco today is $100.00! Bring it to me and I'll write you a check!!

    best all-around carb for EB

The only bad Holley I've ever run across was the one that uses an aluminum tube to fill the back bowl. These have tiny O rings and if they aren't installed just right the carb will leak. Other than that, Holley is about as good as it gets in my book. And, most of the Ford, Autolite and...

    Towing a 1971 - base plate

I went down the very same road a couple of years ago. Back in the early 80's I had a '67 and we towed it 1000 miles every year for hunting purposes for about 3 or 4 years. Sold it and about 2 years ago found a stock '70 and the idea was to do what you're wanting to do. Got to reading about the...
