Cracked Bushing on Radius Arm. Dangerous?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. That's why i love this community I think i'll try to just replace the donut bushings on the rear radius arms for now as Steve described. I'll try to use PB blaster and some type of coating on the arms and undercarriage to protect it. I assume the offset...

Cracked Bushing on Radius Arm. Dangerous?

Thank you! I found a video on YouTube by Nashville Early Bronco that seems pretty solid as well. This seems like the right time to change out all the bushings but i'm a novice so don't want to get in over my head.

Cracked Bushing on Radius Arm. Dangerous?

Remove ONE radius arm at a time by unbolting the shock, diff. vent nipple, spring upper retainer (mark it so you can re-install it correctly), radius arm cotter pin & nut, and supporting the frame on jack-stands so the spring is unloaded & loose. Mark the lower spring cups, remove those 2 bolts...

Cracked Bushing on Radius Arm. Dangerous?

Thanks everyone for the help on this! I found a friend that has a nice garage setup and will let me keep the bronco there for a little while. If i take apart the entire front end and replace the bushings, what do you recommend spraying down the radius arms and track bar with? I'll likely try to...

Cracked Bushing on Radius Arm. Dangerous?

I'll check again when I get home but I think it's sort of sandwiched in there still. I'm sure it'll eventually fall out but it's just cracked I'll have to start asking around for garage space at a friends

Cracked Bushing on Radius Arm. Dangerous?

How dangerous is it to drive with this cracked bushing? I live in an apartment complex for the next 12 months and don't have anywhere to do this repair. I could take it in but would like to use PB Blaster and rustoleum, etc. on the parts so want to take my time with it. Can i drive it around...

    TX 1970 Bronco Fully Restored

Rockers looked fine but then they added the diamond plate. Don't think it looks terrible but a little odd

    SOLD 71 Bronco

I grew up right by Acworth so familiar with the area. I drove mine to Henry's LA Grille a few months back and had a couple guys track me down and ask about it so hopefully there are some buyers in that market. GLWYS.

    Fresh Dent

Nothing like a fender bender being the catalyst for a $30k restoration 8-) If only I had the time and money

    Fresh Dent

Yeah, for whatever reason the pictures I took of the damage were uploaded to Progressive through their app and I can't access them. I'll see if I can get a better one.

    Fresh Dent

Well, my parking spot neighbor hit my Bronco the other day. Bent the front bumper and pushed in the front left corner of the body. I'm not concerned with the bumper as I can just switch that out but this is a tough place to get a dent. Any recommendations on how to fix? :cry...

MS Check out this Bad Larry. CL (74, 5.0 V8, ARB Lockers)

I can only assume he means CD player in the center console. Went back through the pictures when I saw mention of a DVD player. That'd be an interesting and dangerous feature.

    Question About Gear Ratio

Dirtdonk, Thanks for the detailed response! I know the speedometer on the digital dash is correct because i found one of those speed limit signs that clocks you and drove by it about 4 times..I've always been starting from first but your post makes perfect sense. To be honest, i didn't know...

    Question About Gear Ratio

I bought it in March and, to be honest, haven't touched the dual stick transfer case. I figured it was in 2 high when i took a look but might play around with it to see if that makes an impact. Is there anything I should know about using the transfer case (ie transfer while stopped, in gear or...

I live right around the corner from Fox Bros. Gets pretty crowded on Sundays but if we're looking for decent parking in Inman / Little 5 / Highlands then I'd recommend El Taco / DBA BBQ (both have beers). There is a lot behind that usually has open spots. Hand and Hand / Neighbors is another...

    Question About Gear Ratio

My Bronco drives fine but I need to get it in 3rd in order to cruise along at 25 - 30mph. I believe this is because it's geared as an offroad vehicle right now. Will a higher gear ratio make it better to drive around in the city? Also, I've read that you need to be precise when messing with the...
