    Spinning rear wheels

Thanks, they do seem pretty smooth so thinking they were switched out at some point.

    Spinning rear wheels

Thank you. That’s helpful. I know it’s an original 9” rear but perhaps there was an LSD option. Well, my goal in spinning them was actually to make sure that I had the brake shoes adjusted out far enough to the drums but I guess I can just judge that by how easy or difficult it is to put the...

    Spinning rear wheels

Hello friends, recently I was attempting to use the star wheel adjuster to get the rear brake shoes in close proximity to the drums, and as part of that I was trying to spin the rear wheels until feeling some drag as I understand the process to be. But the wheels would not spin, and wouldn’t...

    @Steve83 thank you for this!!!

    Emergency Brake not working

Thank you. Previously, they were entering at a steep angle, so indeed may have gotten a kink.

    Emergency Brake not working

@DirtDonk, @Oldtimer, circling back on this. I re-routed the cables to run below the leaf springs, and still no measurable improvement. I'm going to order new cables and see if that will change anything. Before I do, I wanted to better understand exactly how the e-brake works. I can see where it...

    Emergency Brake not working

@DirtDonk and @Oldtimer , thank you both for this feedback. I had no idea they were supposed to run below the springs. It explains a lot, because when I bought the truck, it had the old suspension on it, which I eventually replaced. Prior to replacing the suspension the E-brake barely worked...

    Emergency Brake not working

Finally circling back on this. Thank you for your responses. @DirtDonk, I'm running 30" X 9.5" BF Goodrich all terrain tires on 15" wheels. I have 10" drums/brakes. I'm not trying to stop the vehicle while rolling, but just trying to park it on a hill and not worry. I have only tested it facing...

    Emergency Brake not working

Hello friends, I have a 1970 bronco with standard suspension, no lift. The emergency brake always seemed somewhat insufficient to me, but since lowering the axle to replace the leaf springs, it no longer works at all. I suspect that I stretched the cable when lowering the axle. I removed the...

    Wimbledon White Paint Code?

Cool, thank you. Did you match your grill to the color of your wheels?

    Wimbledon White Paint Code?

Hi there, just looking through this thread as I am thinking about having my wheels painted white. The white wheels that I see on early Broncos (that I like) look like there is a hint of cream in them, and not really a bright white. In your photo here, yours seem to be if this cream-white...

    Rear shackle bushing

I talked with someone, but maybe I will call again just to double check. They might be tired of hearing from me. Lol

    Rear shackle bushing

I didn’t have the fortitude (or the tools) necessarily to remove that sleeve from the inside of the shackle, so I bought new shackles. Lol

    Rear shackle bushing

Nice rig BTW. Love the color. I asked about your lift because I am just replacing stock springs with no extra lift, and in this case it seems that Tom’s recommendation is for me to orient the shackles with the open side facing the back of the truck.

    Rear shackle bushing

Savage, are you putting in a lift beyond the stock height? Or is this for stock height 5 leaf pack?

    Rear shackle bushing

This great info above. Appreciate it guys. I ran out of time on Sunday, so headed back later this week and will use this spreader method above. Thanks for this tip.

    Rear shackle bushing

Ok thanks. I was thinking that I could spread the flange slightly to get the shackle in and the release it and it would return to its normal posting. Not permanently bending it apart. don’t know if this is even possible.
