There are a number of reasons we went with the Uniball for the axle-end, and a rodend for the frame-side. The primary reasons being strength and protection, The uni-balls can take a bit more stress than 1-1/4" rodends can. Being down low, and these being marketed to the racing community, the beefier option for the axle-end was the right choice.
Additionally, it is nicer from a protection standpoint to have the adjustment point at the frame side, so that you dont wind up with exposed threads on the heim down in the rocks.
