Silver Fellatio is finally back on the road! It was down for a transmission rebuild and some other things. Today I fired her up and took a drive. It was awesome. There are still some things that need attention but it is moving very well under its own power. Man that C4 is a quirky beast right after a rebuild. I thought I screwed something up at first.

After 11 years of ownership, being totaled once, engine rebuild, bodywork, five trips overseas (including a three year trip), and countless other hangups, I finally have a solid base to build off of.

I hope this gives some inspiration to others that are having a tough time getting things together. Even though I did all of the work with my hands, it was not always done with my brain. My family and this broncohood is what got the truck to where it is now. Thanks everyone!

Oh yeah! The kid runs the show. His last project was breaking the tilt column so that the first drive was very interesting.

Couple weeks and we will have it off road! I am really gonna try and get the winch and bumper on before then. Not much else really. I added a bunch of stuff during this shut-down. I am freaking super-pumped right now. The Rum and Cokes are going down nicely. They taste better for some reason :p

What are the symptoms? I sang the "you put the C4 in...you take the C4 out....you put the C4 in and shake it all about" song a lot over the last year or so. At least this time I had concrete under me and not a farmer's field. Stay the course.

Well, this was supposed to be the ultimate C4, wide ratio, fully rollerized, extra clutches evrywhare, bla bla bla.The first time it destroyed my motor(popped into nutrel full throttle middle of second) since then its been in and out about five times, not to mention about ten valve bodys, about a zillon modulators, all kinds of lenghts of mod. rods and now the part of the day is goveners, and to my suprise after pulling the t.case its ok. the main problem now is it dont shift when cold untill about 6000 rpms?

I just did a stock rebuild with a "C" servo and kevlar BANDS. I left the stock clutch count and everything inside is the same. I did the #9 thrust washer mod too. I am not sure why it is not shifting when cold.

As far as a C6 rebuild goes, I say read up and do it. It is always nice to do stuff yourself. Not to mention cheaper (as long as you do it right) :p .

Edit: I added kevlar lined bands, NOT clutches. The Clutches were Borg Warner.

You wouldn't be as glad to see it if you saw that I am doing it with a Cat in the Hat steering column :p. It is definitely a wild ride! Thanks Patrick!

That is what I did with mine. I just read and asked questions until I felt I knew enough to screw it up only a little bit. Well I did it and only screwed it up a little bit. I really thought I screwed something up at first. I had to drive the truck a little until it drove right transmission-wise.
