got the pump out tonight after work. My front explorer set up comes from the bone yard, and has sat for a while, I've now heard that the valve in the pump may be stuck from sitting, can I check this before buying a reman, in photo would it be under bolt 1 or 2.

well I'm freaking out a bit, bought new pump reman cardone, installed last night, filled and spun the pump manually, got some gurgles, hooked up the hoses, just the the pump and return, started it up and nothing still, then jacked it up and did the exercise routine ounce again spinning the wheel lock to lock and still nothing, my reservoir hose seemed low so raised the res. a bit, did not think it would make a difference but tried it anyway, and still nothing nada. does the lee fitting sit lower in the pump and press down on valve below or something??
Yet someone here says they too are using the aeroquip fitting like mine. I am at a loss here not knowing what to do next...

I can't tell from you picture but are you sure you have it plumed right? Sounds to me like that could be your problem... They are sensitive to back pressure on the return line also...

The Lee fitting is the only one that works well.

seems bazaar, if you look down the hole the aeroquip hole is slightly larger, thats why I ask if the fitting needs to make contact in the bottom of the hole. anyway tied calling Lee's and the phone is disconnected.

I *may* have an extra fitting in stock at home. Give me a day or two to remember to check.... And I'll also check on an alternative source today.

Your to kind, I did not think I would have to start throwing parts at this conversion but it would be nice to get it on the road.
I think I seen a thread with WH offering it
Not sure if it is a replica of aero quips or lees. I will check it later

Since Lee is no longer- I would suggest someone with a Lee custom fitting get ahold of a machinist -- those fittings are quickly going to turn into a $40 fitting but worth $100 in the nuclear aggravation. With that said if the Aeroquip units work - buy cutting off the "tit" on there then I would just go that route. Being that these exploder pumper were made on an assembly line - one modified Aeroquip fitting should fit every Exploder pump. WH makes a full custom fitting for the C4-- if that is possible just send them a Lee fitting as a model and get it made-- If Lee isn't in business there shouldn't be any ethical intellectual property issues. I am sure Jim would give you a couple as full payment and he gets to sell overpriced fittings to the EB world :)

A Tier 2 Bronco parts supplier initiated that process this morning :). Fitting and washer enroute to former Lee employee's company for R&D.

Any news on this?

I called and ordered two of each P/N 40810 for the fitting and P/N 80520 for the washer on the 8th from Lee, Gail (I assume it was her on the phone) took my card numbers and address after checking that they were in stock.

Since then nothing.
No charge on my card.
No parts in the mail.
No phone call telling me anything.
Nothing.

And now their phone is disconnected and their website is for sale.

I got a call this morning from the "new guy". He received my fitting and washer and has completed drawings of them. I should have my fitting/washer back early next week. I got the impression I should have some samples of the new pieces in hand as soon as the end of next week (although I'm not holding my breath). I'll report more as things develop.

Well I'll be dipped

Haven't been in the garage all week due to an ailing back, change of shift, and frustration. But got in there today and decided to cut the nipple off the aeroquip fitting, file and clean, and install. Down in the hole of the pump, it looks like the nipple on the fitting would plug the little holes on the sides, whether or not this frees anything I don't know. But started the engine and bang I got power steering with the tires on the floor, can spin the wheel no problem. Next I hooked up the hydroboost and backed the truck up cautiously about 6 feet and wow I got brakes big time. Note the new pump which I probably did not need came with a 0 ring which I put over the upper part of the aeroquip fitting thats probably what is helping to keep it sealed. Toddz69 I will still take that fitting when they come in.
Still some stuff to button up, but getting closer to going for a drive.....
thanks to everybody for there share of knowledge here....
