I had a pretty productive Saturday

Installed the Wildhorses T-style tie rod conversion with adjustable drag link

Installed my remanufactured steering box

Installed new spindles, packed and installed new bearings

Rebuilt the brakes including new pads, calipers, rotors and stainless brake lines

Finally sitting back on its own front tires. The front end is done except for a little adjustments once I get the engine back in.

Spun it around and pulled the rear end and springs.

Time to get the power washer and cleaners out again!

I want their T style conversion as well on my 77. The Y steering on my old 76 with 3.5” SL was a bear to drive on the interstate. It wandered a lil too much. I’ll get mine right this time.

More progress over the past few weeks.

I pulled the rear axle and with the help of my nephew we scrubbed and cleaned the underside of the tub and frame. I painted on some rust reformer to hit any spots that the paint had been chipped off. There was no real rust, just surface rust so that came of when we hit it with the scotchbrite.

It's official!

Tina is a Lubr. I finished up the rear lift while working on the rear axle.

2 1/2" Bronco Hut suspension lift with a Wildhorses 1" body lift

Should be going in for rust repair this week.

Spent some time getting my Explorer 5.0 cleaned up while the rust repair is happening.

Clean and painted the engine, mounts, brackets and manifolds.

Mocked up the new Bronco Hut ceramic coated headers

That was a fast turnaround. You hear too many stories about shops sitting on the work as the easier projects flow in and out. Will they also be doing the paint?

Looks great...I always like to hear good body shop stories, especially when they're friends and colleagues of mine.

I really can't say enough on how nice of a job they did. They replaced both door pillars and the doors literally close with one finger!!!

The gaps and alignment are perfect. I am hoping to post a few pics soon.

After some consideration I decided to pull the body of off the frame.

It will allow me to do a better job on the frame. I can also continue forward with the installation of the engine and transmission while the paint and line X is being done on the tub.

Ignore the messy shop...

Just painting the interior right? Don't want to have to change the name of your thread!

For sure. Just going to do the inside of the tub, inner fenders and the engine bay. Basically where there is new metal. The outside shell will remain intact!
