Thanks everyone! We are getting it drivable, and plan to drive it as much as we can! I am not done yet though. Still have plenty of upgrades to do yet as time and money allow.
full roll cage, Mustang fuel injection, and it looks like my brother wants to put an overdrive transmission in. So we still have plenty to do but for now it is running and driving just fine. I couldn't be happier with how it is turning out.

We got to have some fun with it this weekend. We took it to a car show at the campground I stay at. We were having so much fun I forgot to take pics. but I did find one on facebook that someone else took.

I got some Roadster mirrors for Christmas. I really want to make this Bronco look like a Factory Roadster, I think these mirrors will go a long way towards doing that. I am now going to start looking for a 66 rearview mirror and I am also hoping to find a set of the mercury hub caps to help complete the look.

Does anyone know the correct measurements to attach these mirrors to the fenders?

New Cover!

I got a Rampage cover from the best mother in-law ever for Christmas! More plans for some improvements in 2019 Were discussed around the Christmas table with my Brother... We want to put in a full cage for safety but I want to keep a "stockish" look. So I am open to suggestions if anyone has ideas.

Reach out to KSM, we put a basic Bailie Bilt in her’s and it came out very nice. It looks far less obtrusive than you would think and stiffened up the bronco so it rides and drives better too.

Anyone interested in an update? I don't have any but I feel like rather than letting the thread die before the Bronco is totally built I thought Id post up Just to say "Hi".

Since the Bronco has been drivable I have had it out some but I don't drive it near as much as I thought I would. My brother drives it more than I do but even at that I don't think it was out of the garage more than 10 times during 2019. The last time I had it out my wife and I took it out for the day and by the end of the day I thought I was hearing a noise in the transferase. So it sets in the garage waiting for me to get time to look at it. I have a few upgrades planned for it to make it a little more enjoyable to drive so hopefully I will get some time to get them done this winter. I'll keep the tread updated as they happen.

I wish! I really want to make it up there and I will one of these years. This year and next year are going to be tough to get there. we usually have a lot going on in May with school but after my son graduates It will be a lot easier to make it. By then I will have all the bugs worked out on the Bronco and I'll be able to depend on it to get me there.

Roughly 5 years on the road and finally have both the time and money to do some upgrades to our Bronco.

Our Plan has been to put in the bone stock 351W that my Brother and I originally built over 10 years ago. We had some question as to weather or not it was going to run because neither of us had ever built an engine before.. So almost 2 years ago we took it to a local builder and had it disassembled and reassembled correctly. Turns out it was money well spent the builder said we did a pretty good job except we had a few rings upside down. He also said it would have run like that but I am still glad we had it gone through. Spending the money having that done also allowed us the piece of mind to know it's going to run before we put it in the Bronco. Along with the rebuilt engine we are upgrading to the Explorer serpentine belt system . The 4G alternator, and we already had a Saginaw steering/ hydroboost pump so we got the bracket to keep that from wild horses.

So the goal although pretty lofty for me, is to have the new engine installed and running correctly so that my wife and I can drive it 9 hours south to Townsend, Tn for the Super celebration in April. That gives me about a month. There are several other things going on other than just the engine swap. So as per my norm its not going to be cut and dry like somebody that knows what they are doing. I'll keep this story updated so I can document the progress as I go. Attached are the pics of day one which consisted of about 3 hours of tear down. I must say ILike working on Broncos that have only been put together 5 years and hardly ever driven. I had zero issues like broken bolts etc... it was actually fun wrenching on it! I didnt get pics, but I also got the starter and Exhaust removed along with the transmission unbolted and driveshaft removed. Not bad for just a few hours of work!

2nd day of working on the Bronco brought some noticable changes. I was able to get the transmission and transfer case out. Also got the engine out. It came out with the headers most of the front pulleys and bell housing still attached. That made for pretty quick work. I was able to get all that stuff off the engine without having to lean over the fenders. Made it alot easier! So far to this point I have about 7 hours into taking my time and removing all this.

I have been working every day for the past week on this project but it's mostly been behind the scenes. Mostly spending money on parts I didnt know I needed untill now! Lol!! I did manage to get some areas underneath the tub covered with Por 15 for now. Going to have to do something more permanent like bed liner in the future but it's going to have to do for now. I only have a few weeks left to get this back on the road. I dont feel like I am behind yet but every time I start the next process the "while I'm at its" have been getting me. hopefully I have done enough planning and looking ahead this week to overcome alot of those.

27 days till Super Cell. We will see how this next week goes. Probably going to be a make or break week as far as that goes. Hopefully the list gets shorter this comming week.
