Could hear that sigh of relief several states away! That's awesome, and more motivation for the next steps....

I masked off the VINs when applying the POR 15, then decided to coat with Ford Blue, I think it looks cool (looks like blue painters tape in the pic) so my future grandson will not have to look too hard for a VIN when he registers it in 2047 ;)

Kudos to ya on preserving the frames vin. I masked mine off during the powdercoating process. It's still bare metal and flash rust has begun. I need to wire brush it and primer/ paint it soon. I do plan to take pics of both vin spots and add them with my title for added insurance. I feel it won't hurt.

Keep up the good work. You are making much more progress than I am!
Matt

Stopped by my body guy’s house a couple times this week, I couldn’t believe what an amazing job he did on the front lip of my hood, peeled it apart and poured some type of sealer inside (I forget the name said he uses it on bikes) did the same with the windshield and tailgate frames, even replaced the nuts inside the windshield frame.

He’s just about got all the parts in primer and will turn his attention to the elephant in the room aka TUB

This is and has been a long process but now that I’ve seen with my own eyes not only his skill level but willingness to go the extra mile (he also took the time to price a new windshield frame before fixing mine, $500? yeah I think I’ll fix it) I feel fortunate to have him on the job :)

Figured I'd dust this thread off with a semi-updated pic of the ole girl still sitting on the back burner, all parts ready for paint, supposedly has a helper now so they will both tackle the tub 'soon' %)

That would be a good project but that chassis does look good with the 6 in it. That is going to be a nice truck when your done regardless of what motor you decide to put in. I drove a 6 cylinder bronco years ago and it was a pretty good driving truck, no John Force smokey burnouts but it did plow snow and get around good.

Update today, top is being worked on, then it's tub time. He says if I take the chassis he'll need it back (probably) by end of January...I see a shimmering light :D

It will definitely hit some shows, but I don't wanna think that far ahead...baby steps! ;)

Once the top is done he will start the metalwork on the tub, which is no picnic from what I've learned on this site, but hopefully he sees it through and gets it done. He does good work and he has my red Bronco body fitment book which he'll be referencing. thanks guys! -jeff

Looks like it is time for a trip to JBG. That is a lot of work on that list, good luck and I'm sure it will turn out nice. Ken
