Thanks guys. I actually drove it for the first time the other day. You couldn't have wiped the smile from my face! It actually drove pretty good. Finishing up the AC and then I'm planning to bring it home on Tuesday . Still using the factory program on my Optishift. Need to program that so it shifts better but hopefully just little stuff after that. It's been a looooong time!

Got exhaust done today. Stuffed in the biggest muffler they could and 3" pipe. Getting sooooo close to getting this thing on the road (I hope). Having some hiccups with the power steering (explorer). Doesn't have any power at idle and gets some pressure once its revved. Reading a few previous threads about the same problem so hopefully we can figure it out.

Send the Pump to Lee's he will rebuild it so it works well with Hydroboost and the bigger tires.

Finally brought it home. Drove it 10 miles and it did great! Drives really nice. Sunny 70 degree perfect Veterans Day to bring it home. It has taken a long time to get here! Thanks to everyone for all the help, advice and patience while we got this thing going. Still small things to address but it is roadworthy as of now.

Congrats man! Looks awesome! I just got mine out of the motor shop and we went from hi's in the 70's to hi's in the upper 20's literally over night...I drank a coke in the driver seat sitting the garage with our 4 year old having her princess juice. We are both jonesing!;)

Sweet ride! Get some pics/vid in the dirt!?

Awesome! What an inspiration. Probably my all-time favorite build. Can't wait for this day for my rig... some day... sigh.

Congrats!

Thanks everyone. I still can't believe I'm finally driving it. Planning to get the doors back on it this week and then might get a black "special decor" stripe in vinyl put on it. I know it's not a '76/77 but I still really like the look of the stripe. I'll post pictures of I end up doing it.

Or another way to say it.....I feel like I've been watching this thread since Al Gore invented the internet :)

Good job Kenny! That first drive is the best.

Haven't posted in a while. It's been too hot to drive lately. It has mostly been hanging out in the garage.
