Does your exhaust set-off car alarms?

Yellow77 does it all the time. I don't think it's loud but my son say he can hear me coming up the road from home.

In certain gears and idling it will rumble. When I stomp on it, it will scream...

I think it has to do with harmonics and it is setting off the motion detectors

It will set of 2 or 3 car alarms at the local grocery market just idling through the parking lot.

My kids will have a guessing game each time we go to the Ala Moana Shopping Mall. This is where the fun begins. I will be looking for parking in the covered garage and a few alarms will go off, by the time we reach the upper level parking deck the whole garage will have car alarms blazing.....%) ;D

Both of my trucks set car alarms off all the time. The Lightning seems to do it a little more often, but the bronco does as well

I know you can hear the Lightning from at least 1/4 mile away

I will have to have a friend take a video of the Bronco, so you can hear it's exhaust, as it sounds just as cool.

I used to have a '76 Ford P/U that would set off alarms all the time. It was kind of fun.

I hope mine never does. .45s and 357s are the car alarms around here.
That is funny and has to be fun in the parking lots.

Mine does it all the time as well. Full length headers, 2.5 inch dual exhaust, 2 chamber flowmasters mufflers with turn downs at the end of the mufflers.

I set off an alarm in a heep this past year at a 4Wheel Jamboree with my pick up( idling around with open headers, on the way to the burnout contest). Lots of people got a kick out of it, unfortunatly for the heep owner, I had to drive by again about ten minutes later, and it was just as funny the second time, well not so much for him;D

My mustang does, we used to drive through campus in college by the dorms around midnight and set off as many as we could before running from the campus cops;D

I also had a 98 Z71 in college, it had dual straight pipes with dual cats and
22" echo tips. (no mufflers) Anytime we made a trip to the Boats in Shreveport you could set off every alarm in the covered parking garage! Ah those were the days%)

Both the Bronco and Harley do it. The Harley would set of a house alarm though. The Bronco never really gets loud in parking lots as I am idling around with the automatic and it shifts to third doing 6mph. I've been run off the road enough by moron car drivers putting on lipstick or reading the newspaper to not care about what people think of my stupid-loud soul shattering bike exhaust. When I lived in Europe, I had people jumping in the bushes when I started that thing up. gets the passenger pretty frisky by the end of a ride too!

Yeah both the EB and my Honda Shadow do. Funny thing is I don't think either are really that loud, definitely not as loud as most harleys. I'm guessing it's the harmonics mentioned already or something. Or maybe they are both really loud and my hearing is starting to go (yeah that's probably it ;)).

Used to all the time during startup when I was in Utah it was great in the winter at 5 AM. Then once warmed up I'd Idle through the parking lot and set them off again. Doesnt happen much here in AZ. I think the 2.5 in exhaust is a little mellower than the 2.25 that I used to run.

This was my sons favorite part about going to the store. I no longer have that '72 big block ford truck, but my '92 bronco does every now and again. My '73 will when it's done, but I've notice a decline of those style alarms in the PNW.

Mine does. I love setting alarms of on Ferraris, Lambos etc in Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. Not to mention putting my exhaust tip in the ear of people in convertables at stop lights. :)
