Thanks for posting up the pics. I had a great time as always. Hate I had breakage, I should be doing more maintenance to find those gremlins before they show up in the woods. BIG thanks to Gary for letting me use his driveshaft the rest of the day. Thanks to Nick for putting the event together. Scott

Well I had the "broken frame"! Actually my left front leaf spring hanger ripped off and took a chunk of the frame with it. The Bronco was handling a little funny on Friday afternoon coming up Daniel but seemed to do OK. Then on the park road back to camp it started making some noises - you know the kind that "cain't be good!" When I started crabbing down the road I knew something was pretty bad. The hanger let loose and the frame was still sitting on the end of the spring but the driver side of the axle had shifted back 3-4 inches. Luckilly I made it back to camp driving slow. I did need to wrachet-strap it forward to get in on the trailer. I'll try to post a pic later today.

It was a great weekend spent with some real nice folks. Weather was fantastic. It did rain on Saturday night so those who stayed to wheel on Sunday probably had a blast with the mud. Thanks to Scott, my rear driveshaft was able to wheel on Saturday! Lot's of breakage, but not too much body damage. Most of the trails are pretty wide at Uwharrie. We're still trying to figure out how Jason (Jabo76) busted his hub rotor cap!

I did get to wheel Pearlcoat's Bronco some at the end of the day on Saturday. Now I am spoiled by EFI! Thanks Roger and Judy.

Also thanks, Nick - great burgers again this year!

Here's a pic of the damage. (You can also see one of the PO's booger-weld repairs!)

Great photos Jabo.

My carnage:
1. Broken water pump and t-stat = $90
2. Sheared ball joints, lowers. = $TBD (could be time for the D44 buildup with all the goodies))
3. Tow back to Raleigh = $200

Thanks to everyone that helped me out along the way (JABO, Dave from HP, etc). I definitely felt the Brotherhood this weekend ;D

I agree with everything said above. The wheelin' was great, met some new bronco people, didn't suffer any of the carnage and the food was good too! Scoop - the roundup is less than eight weeks away, get that welder fired up so that frame is ready to go! Thanks to Nick for organizing the weekend and transporting all the food/supplies, etc. Thanks to MEB for dinner on Saturday night, no extra charge for the thunder storm.

I gotta remember that the pics show up online so don't do anything embarrasing - you never know who has a camera in their hand!

Glad everyone came out. It was a really great weekend. We'll have to try to get together a few more times over the summer and fall. Especially since I have 4 more trips to break even on the yearly pass I bought ;D .

Here are a few of my pics form the weekend.

Nick
