That's cool BAX! You plan to make it as nice as yours?
No this is a wood truck, it will let dad get around in the woods. He sold his 79 250 High boy a few years ago. It was getting to hard for him to get into. Was Riding around on a honda ATV, Not good for an old guy. This will work good for him.

Cool man, cool! Tomorrow morning when Mrs Bax wakes up in the rolling waterbed, she's gonna hit her head on the bottom of a Bronco.
That's looks like a full day. You deserve a beer.

Today # 2 Got it all taken apart and the frame is ready for blasting. That is as soon as I get the bumpers off. The PO welded them to the frame. Very nice. Truck has 4.11 gears too Big plus.
Pictures? Oh sure here they are. The frame dolly worked pretty good. I would make a few changes if I did it again.

Hey Bax, keep adding pics and narrative. To keep the thread short i'm gonna zip it and just watch, so don't think i'm not interested.
Tom
PS Please stop calling the waterbed frame a "frame dolly".

It looks like you have a great facility and the right tools to do the job. How about you give us a web cam!

I took the engine oil pan off tonight and found that I have an original bottom end. looks like the heads have been worked on recently but the rest of this motor is worn out. I guess I will have to get into the 289 out of the 68. If that fails it's time to look at the 300 -6

Wow, Your moving on this. Good Work, I like seeing Broncos in various states of repair almost as much as I like them mostly done (never really done).

It's dueling ninny day! The motor out of dads and the original 289 out of the 68. Dads is worn out so I put it away. The 289 ran ok before I pulled it so I thought I would give it a look.
Standard bore, standard mains and rods. Bearings look real good, not stock clevite 77's in it. Piston skirts look good. heads look good but the oil / carbon build up is a question. the heads on the dads 302 have been done recently so I will look into using them on the 289. Real question is how loose is the piston in the bore? I checked the bore and it is standard too. No scratches in the walls, very good shape but very polished as well. (oil use problem) If I re ring it they may never seat. What you do is the big question.

I would cut the front and rear boards a bit...it looks like they could be shin busters.
