lokks like you had a nice turnout

We had a great turnout. About 13 EB's, 1 FSB, 3 jeeps and 1 yota truck. The weather was about perfect for February - sunny all day but a tad cool in the morning, and up to the low 40's in the afternoon. So not too bad at all. We had a couple of folks drop out early. Jason's (jmcallis) efi acted up and wouldn't run pretty early in the day. His buddy in a Rubicon towed him out and the guys from NY decided to head back too - the trails were a little tougher than they thought and being open/open they were having some trouble.

So after having a bit of a slow start early in the morning, the rest of the day went smooth. We ate lunch at the quarry. We then covered a lot of the south property and did all 3 sections of Snake Bite. Then a few did Camel Back while most watched. We then headed over to the west property to see the Rock Creek. Cesco and his group did as much of Rock Creek as they could afford (as things broke on Brian's rig!!) Most took Trail 13 along Rock Creek. I stuck with my son in his FSB (also open/open) and we took Trail 14 which parallels 13, but is not quite as tough! Actually it was a fun trail with lots of frozen over muddy ruts.

Here are some pics I took. I should be able to post more later from the ones my son took.

BTW, Jason, I hope you made it home OK. Let us know!

Finally got around to post a few pics that I took. I forgot that I brought my camera until towards the end of the day. I had a great time.

Brian, Guess the joint failed on Rock creek? That's why I took the earlier out. I broke one there a few years ago and didn't want to chance it that late in the day.

I broke it on the trail leading out of rock creek. I think it was called outters. both sides broke almost at the same time. after the driver's side broke we decided to just look for the easiest way out and moved 6" back and snapped the passenger side stub shaft off. it was a little tricky getting out of there with the winch. we actually called the office to tell them that we were broke down and did not know if we would make it back before it got dark but it all worked out and we made it back to get loaded before dark.

the guy with me in the jeep rubi put a hole in the bottom of his oil pan at rock creek. we stopped at the gas station and he bought a couple quarts of oil and some of that putty epoxy and jammed it in the hole to stop the leak. it worked and he drove it 3-1/2 hours back home.

Some of otters is harder than rock creek, might have been better to just stay in the creek. I've heard there are some real big rocks past the crossover in rock creek. Never been down that far, going to have to check it out.

I need to upload the little bit of video I have of just before the axles broke
