Frame blasted, painted. All new suspension, fuel tank, brakes, lines etc. Dropped the body back on and new floors, floor support, kick panels, body mounts. Finished up spraying the firewall inside and out today so I can put the heater box, pedals back in, so now I'm ready for the engine. Got one rear quarter replaced this week and will start on the other. Hopefully my built 200ci will be ready soon, but still have plenty to keep me busy.
Couple of before and after pic's.

Uncut, unlifted with a few upgrades to start. Power steering, Ranger seats. Main money being spent on the engine, aluminum head, Isky cam, Holley 390 4v, Keith Black pistons, 9.5:1 compression. Power brakes and EFI a little later on after it's broken in good. Old man's truck with a twist. Street ride, my body won't take off road anymore.

Do you have special insight into the 200 that you can share about your mods

What EFI do you plan to use? I'm getting ready to go to work on a 200 for my 66 and plan to put a C4 behind it. I have a webber 2bbl carb I'll use in the short term but I would like to go EFI some day as well.

Passauf: The engine, I read the cam spec's, talked to my engine builder and decided on the Isky 256/256 w/ .450 valve lift 112 lobe center and 202/202 duration for a couple reasons. Good vacuum for accesories like PS, steady torque, lower rpm range like an RV cam. The Classic Inlines head for bigger stainless valves, flow rate, seperate head and intake, bossed for EFI. It's bored .030 over, zero decked w/double roller timing gear set, ARP studs. Compression will be 9.5:1, maybe a little higher to still run pump gas. After deciding, I ran the build by the guy's over on Fordsix.com that usually build higher rpm engines for Mustangs and it met with their approval. They ran it thru a dyno simulator and suggested the Holley 390cfm 4v. At 2800rpm on paper it should be making right at 200ft.lbs torque, cruise rpm if I choose correct tires with my 4:10 gears.
cascadejohnson: I have a thread on fordsix.com titled Throttle Body EFI where they are discussing the options. It's dependant how how much money you wish to spend. Cheapiest leaning toward GM TBI I believe.
Edit: That weber runs fine on the street, but has problems in off camber/off-road conditions.

Scored Some Seats

Got the heater, pedals painted and installed. Scored some 99 Ranger seats, all the seatbelts and hardware which I believe I can make work, plus the jack kit for $100. They are a little darker than pic shows, more of a charcoal. Should go with about any color I paint it. Need cleaned a little, but excellent shape.

I would like to see how the seats look installed. In mine, it currently has some nasty old seats from a BroncoII (I think) they are a little higher backed than stock bronco buckets and the top of the seat hits the window before the seat goes all the way back. Not a big deal for my short ass but not a very comfortable drive for anyone over about 5'10". I have read about the ranger seats but never seen a set installed. Let me know when you get to that, I would like to see the photos.

Cut the old brackets off today and did some test fitting. They will fit, but it will be a custom fit like a Indy car. Made for one size person(small). If you're long legged, forget it. Luckely this build is for me only. I'm 5'10 180 lbs. I'll be putting the bulkhead in next week and tweak the mounting for max adjustment, but it will still be tight. They would work great in a reg. Bronco. Very comfortable. Ordered the offset Duff's shifter handle today to gain a little more room beside right leg and match the Duff's transfer case shifter. Plenty of room as far as controlling pedals, but may need to shorten steering column an inch or so. Later, Richard

That looks good. Looking at the seat from the side, I can see that the head rest part of the seat angles up a little. that should give some additional clearance. On mine the seat hits the rear window before the seat goes all the way back. I was planning on recovering a set of stock buckets for mine but I really like the way this is looking. Maybe I'll have to reconsider! Keep posting pics. I want to see it with the half cab on.

Engine Home

Picked up the engine from builder today! Don't rag because I had it painted black. Now to find more money. Guess the 76 will have to go if I'm going to finish by spring. Building these little sixes is expense, but it will be different.

Man, You have a few bucks in that head and intake! I looked at that setup over at classic inlines but its not in the current budget. I would like to know a little more about that engine. Did you bore it? What cam did you go with? Did you get it all from classic inlines? Here is my 200 and the C4 is on the floor in front of it. No, the Bronco in the background is not where the 200 will go. It will replace the 170 in my 66 roadster.

My next bronco will be a six, Im thinking injected 200 with a turbo.

Check out fordsix.com "Broncitis"( a different one than on here) has done a lot of r&d on that same build. Awesome reading.
cascadejohnson: Engine build spec's are in post nine.
Did get the engine dropped in yesterday. My son came by and helped me.
