I just installed a WH 1+" body lift and dropped that sleeve through a hole in the frame rail. It was the chair or pedestal mount near the back of the seat area. I haven't even tried to get it out yet. The only thing I Can think of doing to get that thing out is to tip my bronco on it's end and shaking it out.

Is that thing going to add to the rattles that already exist? Or anyone have a suggestion on how to get it out? Maybe blasting a power washer nozzle in it?

Btw .. The body mounts from WH are nice! And look great

Fish a line through the rail with a magnet tied to it.

Stick a magnetic pickup tool through the hole yor dropped the sleeve in. The make ones with a flexable shaft. Thats how I got the nut out that I dropped down what sounds like the same hole:)

I taped my magnet pick up tool to a old fiberglass buggy whip and stuck it in the end of the frame rail. pulled it right out. put a piece of card board on top of the hole under the body mount till ya get every thing tightend up. dont ask me why I know to do this:/....

Find out where the sleeve is and then get a can of the spray foam insulation and find a hole or drill a hole in the frame next to it .. Spay some in the frame to keep it still..

Ha! This is almost a rite of passage. It sounds like everybody ignores the old "put some tape over the hole or you will drop the shim into it" statement. But I did and it still dropped into the hole. I forget why. But I am sure it was clever. Anyway, I left mine in there and never heard a peep out of it. When I removed the body for the off-the-frame thing I was able to fish it out a lot easier. By the way, I replaced the missing shim with a toilet paper steel roller thingy cut to size. Worked great.

I have a pickle fork inside one of my frame rails (don't ask :-[)
Everything else rattles so bad, I haven't heard a peep out of it yet.
One of these days I will take the rear bumper off and lift the front with a forklift, or just try some serious hillclimbs without the bumper on.

LOL - I love hearing these stories! Mostly because I just did the same exact thing. The sad thing is that I actually followed all of the advice about putting duct tape over the hole...on the first one I did. On the second, I was thinking that it was only the nut that could fall through. I put the sleeve up there and heard a clinkclink - thought to myself I really am the dumbest person on the planet. LOL
I already have the back bumper off so I'm going to try a couple of things you guys suggested - I already checked ACE and HD with no luck.
I also agree that WH put together a great kit!

Just wanted to follow up on this. I got a flat magnet about 1.5 inches wide and used gorilla glue tape to tape it to the end of an 8' piece of quarter round (floor board trim). It was perfect because it was rigid, but still had enough flex to go down the bend in the frame. It took me less than 5 minutes to get it out. Thanks for all of the suggestions!
edit - I guess I should mention that I already had the rear bumper off and went through that exposed end.
