so i have been tossing around the idea of painting or powdercoating all the sport trim and the rims in a charcoal gray or flat black. i am going to be doing the body soon and i am staying with the bright orange body color with either a white top or flat black or the charcoal gray. so what i am looking for is pictures of trucks to get a idea of what it looks like with painted trim. i wish there was a sight where you can build your truck anyway you want it on screen. i also own a aircooled vintage vw bug and there is such a sight which is cool because you can choose the colors, the wheels, tires, accessories, stance, etc. it gives you a idea of just how it would look before you actually build it. if anyone is interested in it here is the site.

just click on a car and build away. so if anyone has painted trim post up some pics for me or anyone else that is looking to do the same as me.

Download these & then open them in MSPaint:

.
for some reason i cannot get the color i want to work. plus it is very hard to get the colors in the lines. it looks like i failed kindergarten lol. have you gone to the website i posted and played with that site. it is made specificly to do this type of thing. you just stroke a key for the body color another for the wheels, etc.

I drew the wheels using the tools in MSPaint. Each is just a series of circles: some filled with black; others filled with light gray. Then I copied & pasted to make the 2nd and set them in place. It takes some practice to learn how to use Paint, but once you do, it's pretty simple & a lot more useful than it gets credit for.

I just realized why you might be having trouble. SMN doesn't accept .BMPs, so save the .GIFs as .BMP, and you should have no trouble filling in the colors and arranging the parts. I've never tried to work with .GIFs, so I'm not sure if it'll work in that format.

Steve, those are great.....do you know if they have a front and rear shot as well?
Marty, how the helll are ya....:D
hey jay whats happening with you. why is there a picture of a bronco on it's roof in your avatar. you didn't do anything bad did you. i finally got my efi running right. the rjm harness had a bad cheap chinese relay that was intermitent for the MAF,02 sensors, and the alternator excite lead that cause all sorts of havoc in how it ran. that tranny and transfer case i bought from you rebuilt with no problems and worked out great. got to use it in the snow too. just wanna swap it out for a ax-15 or nv3550 eventually. how is your wifes truck coming along.

Here are most of the parts I added. I didn't include stuff like the rear off-road bumper, shocks, leaf springs, radius arms (etc.) which are simple shapes.

I made all of those from someone else's JPG that I collected (probably from here). It was just a dingy line drawing of the L side of a wagon body, without the frame, and then I set it onto the frame from another line drawing I collected. So I cleaned them up, flipped & edited it to make the R side, and sketched in the 1/2 cab, tire carrier, & cage. I haven't seen a front or rear. Maybe I'll make a door insert & re-upload the parts image.
