;)Well time to start building another bronco. I'm doing a transplant or body swap. Luber to a Shuber. I've found a home for my uncut body. I'm really relieved that I'm not going to cut it. I'm taking a 74 body - turning it into a 77. Removing the sidemarkers, and painting it my DeVille Bronco Green. This is a customer build and all modifications will have to be approved first, so I don't have all the finishing details yet. I'll keep ya'll posted.

I finished cleaning the frame and soaked it with a rust inhibitor - got that finished and then painted the frame with a enamel based farm equipment gloss black.

Frame is looking good, do you have any pictures of how you fixed that hole in the frame?

We use 3x3 1/8" thick square tubing. We basically cut out a the rusted spot in a square or rectangle, then cut out the same size piece out of the tubing. Make sure you cut the replacement piece a little big and then slowly trim it to fit. The tighter the fit, the easier it will be to weld. If you are repairing the frame in a bend/curve - you might have to weld one end of the plate and then use a hammer to form it to frame.
The 3x3 tubing works really well if you have to remove a top piece or lower piece because it is the same width as the frame and it makes it easier to fit.

Hope this helps some - I"ll see if I took any good pics of it and post them later

Got the top off - the dash, wiring, and pedals out - Painted under the dash
-Cleaned, sanded, and painted under the hood/radiator support. I don't understand why it takes 2 or 3 days to get under the hood ready to paint

Sorry for the crappy pics, had to use the camera phone - I'll post some better ones later.

While I'm on the subject of under the hood, has anyone else ever experienced a really sloppy factory upper cowl seal. Where the cowl meets the firewall - it looks like they poured a ton of sealer on the seam and even dripped it on the front wheel well. I though a PO had done it, but I removed some of it and it was bare metal under it. Wierd  Didn't know if anyone else had the same thing happen

About ready to paint- got the body moved onto the 77 frame. So she's setting low ;D. Hope to paint it Saturday. I attached a pic with the stripes taped on the body like we are going to paint on it. Believe me when I say I am tired of block sanding. I've riubbed on this truck so much I feel like I should have to marry her ;D%)

Sounds like my 67. I had more sealer on the lip between the firewall and cowl than I had metal!

The Hood ,Grille, and Tailgate look good I really like that color!

This truck even had sealer dripped on the fender well by the firewall
