Just for curiosity, and I don't know the numbers, maybe they can be found, how is Jeep doing? Add Jeep's sales into the mix, every Wrangler purchased since Ford stopped making the early Bronco was a lost sale.
Jeep made ~120,000 Wranglers last year. You'd need at least that kind of volume to come even remotely close to paying for the development costs. Total market for this kind of vehicle is < 150K units/year. (that includes ALL vehicles in that market) If you're talking Rubicons, they sold ~20,000 of those. (which would be the bottomline performance any enthusiast would want out of a new Bronco)

I don't see it being a profitable venture. At it's peak the EB hit 25,000 units/year, and the first year it went full-sized it sold 250,000 that year. A 10x increase in sales in 1 year. That's a strong indicator of what people are willing to buy.

Saying it's cool and that you would buy one is a lot different than actually putting up the coin for one (most likely $30-40K if properly equipped)

The FJ numbers above are pretty close - they sell on average ~1,200/month of the FJ (I've got access to Automotive News sales/manufacturing numbers for all of North America) and saw a 10% drop in sales 2011 vs 2010. 2012 has been even slower.

Did it improve the looks any? Would almost have had to.

My Escape is hail damaged, I say it adds "character."

Those will probably end up as company lease cars (mgmt lease)

Not a Raptor, but here is a link to our 2012 Bronco build. We also have a Raptor Bronco build going on, but it's in the early stages. I will post some pics as soon as we make a little more progress on it.

I read recently that the Bronco may be manufactured in Brasil, but there are no plans for production in the United States. Two links for an article and photos. I want one!

Well it is up and running! We have a few little bugs to work out but should be able to make some test runs with it this week. If everything goes well we may have some videos soon before we tear it all back apart for paint. Here are a few sneak pics of the dash in the Bronco

Nope the 100+ people at the Philadephia Auto Show Jeep area BEFORE the doors even officially opened proves there is no market for these vehicles (well to Ford anyway......). Through out the day the JEEP Wrangler area and test track had twice the number of people as the entire Ford center room grand display.
